    Friend passed away
Today's funeral capped off the worst week of my life. It's going to be tough moving on from this. The only reason I'm posting this is to help those of you who take sports and sports bets too seriously. Please don't invest so much into a team--emotionally or financially-- that you will do something drastic when things go awry. If you feel you are having emotional trouble dealing with sports please PM me and I provide as much support as I possibly can. Please don't blow up this thread with apologies. I have a great support system and will be alright. I just want to make sure something like this doesn't happen again.

One old friend of mine (had everything, once) leapt to his death from a bridge.

Another, I helped through rough waters. He told me in no uncertain terms that suicide was on the table of options.

He got through it and some years go by. He bets round the calendar year, but never learned his lesson on betting over his head.

This was a heinous football season for him. He has two young kids, he's out of work now (also had everything once) and his wife told him to beat it. All I know is that he owes tens of thousands of dollars to one book (he doesn't even know I know this). God knows what his full portfolio looks like.

                Watch your ass, fellas.

I believe its a mental problem. You have to have a balance and if you cant control it you gotta move away. You my friend did not have a balance. 1-888-GA-HELPS will help ya out.

Know of two guys that couldn't handle this gambling deal. Both killed themselves. I have been around players a long time and some I am convinced want to lose. Sounds crazy I know but when they are up they can't stop until they are down. And when they are down they eventually bury themselves. Some guys can't gamble and I think it is a higher percent than you can imagine. This "hobby" has ruined a ton of families.

                                  guys, it's pretty simple

set how much you're able to lose BEFORE you make your next bet and STICK TO IT

and no offense but anyone considering ending it because theyre too emotionally invested in a team has problems that go way beyond sports

Family first, pull back when it affects that part of your life. Keep it all in perspective, the Vegas strip looks like it does because folks are losing not winning.

                                      Sorry, man.

I'm not a big GA fan. Unless they're giving away free C-notes, I don't know what the point is.
