#9they are not necessary in most homes... we produce more then enough humidity by just living in the homeComment -

#11Jack it up and get a nice case of mold and mildew in your home.
I prefer heaters in the winter and dehumidifiers in the summerComment -

#17be careful with humidifiers boys... like sikler said, too much moisture is bad.. the average home produces more then enough humidity just by living (taking showers, breathing, ect..). Take a look at your windows while your system is running, and see if there is moisture.. also take a look in your attic and see if the roofing nails coming down are rusty

#18Good chance a lot of these guys are in short term rental units. They'd care very little about the mess they leave behindOriginally posted by dlunc3be careful with humidifiers boys... like sikler said, too much moisture is bad.. the average home produces more then enough humidity just by living (taking showers, breathing, ect..). #28What type of heater? Oil-filled radiator like this one isn't a health hazard at all. It doesn't burn oil and the oil never has to be changedOriginally posted by zoo youkAlso our heater is run by oil and the humidifier is broke. Sure thats probably a health hazard?

#30why are you still heating with oil? switch asap to natural gas... if not available, go with geothermal (30% tax credit), or even an inverter heat pump... oil is very expensive and inefficientOriginally posted by zoo youkAlso our heater is run by oil and the humidifier is broke. Sure thats probably a health hazard?
also... if the oil fired heater is older, be very careful of carbon monoxideComment -

About 3 4 years old, not sure why my step dad thinks its not a big deal that the humidifier is broken.
