That's the extent of your scouting report? I think he's a terrible QB because of his (losing) blowouts. If Marion Barber wasn't mentally challenged the Broncos finish 7-9, miss the playoffs and all the talk is different.

Pedagogy was making a veiled Romo joke with his post. I think most of us agree Timmy will never be an All-Pro QB......but he is without question a first class human being.

        Timmy gets it.

What hate? Wasn't he voted the most popular athlete or something? I'd say it's all of the excess press that he doesn't deserve. There are a lot (well, some anyway) of good human beings in sports, most don't get press for it.

Lol no Romo joke. There were games when Tim drove down the field and won the game... You say if Barber didn't fumble they would be 7-9 well a 1-4 of that wasn't on Tebow ... He may not set the world on fire offensively, but he first need to ... When is the last time you went ... Man ... Those Steelers sure know how to put points on the board ..

I somtimes wonder what would be the reaction to Tebow, if everything was the same. But he was Muslim and had the same amount of public displays of his religion in word and deed as he does now. Would people be ready to hang him? would he even have gotten a starting role, or was that a product of the Christian Right FB fans advocating (putting up billboards) for him?

It is not that people do not like him as a person, it is people who understand the game of football hate the public clouded perception of Tebow being a great QB, he is not even close to being a good QB let alone a great one, great athlete and human being yes.............

I'd have to say no. Clearly Allah does not have the same pull with the NFL as Jesus does.

yeah its not too much of Tebow, but the misguided fandom he has generated. Kurt Warner was as more or MORE publically a Christian, but he wasn't as villified.

I think part of it is also the fact that he was so successful in college

Part of the Tim Tebow legand started his freshman year when they won the National championship. He was the 2nd string QB who would come in and run and make those jump passes on the goalline. He was exciting. Then people said, well he is a one trick pony who can not lead the team himself. He then Won the heisman and then won a national championship. People enjoyed seeing a kid people said could not be a successful starting QB in college become a successful starting QB in college.... things are repeating themselves, just on the national spotlight.
