It amazes me how dumb people are.
When Stoops has a horrible season his team wins 9-10 games.
In 10 years Stoops has won 7 conference championships and a national title. There are like two coaches better than him in college football. If OU could get Saban, Meyer, or Vince Lombardi then yeah, I would say fire him. I don't see that happening though.

I guess Saban should be fired if he doesn't beat LSU. He has already been embarrassed at home by Louisiana-Monroe and been destroyed in the Sugar Bowl by Utah. If he loses this game it might be the final straw.Comment -
For the record, I have always thought Stoops was a little overrated. A lot of his success could be attributed to his coaching staff and the talent OU gets.
Guys like Mangino, Mike Stoops, Mike Leach, Kevin Sumlin, etc. should recieve credit as well.
With that said, you're not going to get much better than 7 conference titles and a national championship over a ten year span. When a 9-10 win season is considered a horrible year, I think you're in pretty good shape.Comment -

You obviously no nothing about the program. Stoop's job is very secure. The only way he leaves is if he takes another job. They won't fire him.
What are they going to say, "Bob, you have only won the Big 12 7 times in 10 years. You've only won one national title. YOU'RE FIRED!"
LMAO. Some of you guys kill me. The funny thing is, you can't name 5 coaches in the game that have accomplished more than he has. There is a reason his name always comes up when a high profile job comes open.
Stoops has elevated OU to such a high level that whenever we lose a game, it's considered choking. I guess he sucks if he doesn't go undefeated every year.
Look at programs like Ohio State, Miami, Florida State, Nebraska, Florida, Notre Dame, ect. They have all fallen from grace but OU has been relevant every year for over a decade.Comment -

I'm pretty happy with winning the Big 12 7 times over a decade, a national title, and being a top 10 team year in and year out. The fact that everyone thinks Stoops had a horrible year and he still won 10 games should say something.
Likewise, do these morons realize that every time a big time job comes open, Stoops is always at the top of the list? Florida has tried to get him a couple of time and NFL teams have been interested as well.

Stoops job is as safe as a female in bed with RogueScholar.
Stoops has run one of the most successful programs in the country over the last decade. And he's done it without violations. Hard to win and do it with integrity. Coach Stoops has done it. His job is very, very safe.
