if this goes past the 2nd round I would be amazed. These types of fights never live up to the hype. It's going to take them longer to walk into the cage then it will be to finish this fight haha

For those who don't think Reem is overrated just look at his last five years of oppnents. I posted this in another thread but tell me you are impressed with the cans Overeem beat:
I don't see a lot of impressive wins on Overeem's resume. Werdum is probably the best name on there but he was only 2-2 in the UFC. He was glorified for "catching" Fedor but other than that he is just another decent heavyweight. before that Duffee, who is a nobody, Brett Rogers, who has lost 4 of his last 5, Fujita, who was past his prime and lost 5 of his last 7, Thompson who is 16-14 and his record his last 16 fights is 3-12-1NC, Sylvester who lost 2 of his last three and has no significant wins, Big Daddy Goodridge 23-22 and lost his last seven fights including one to Overeem, Mark Hunt 7-7, Lee who ended his career 1-2, Buentello who was 29-14 with a few decent wins but lost 4 of his last 6. Before this win streak Reem had lost 4 of his previous 5 with a win sandwiched in their against Knaap who has a dazzling 18-20 record. his losses were when he stepped up in compettition against Kharitonov, Rua, Arona, and Noguera. That is Reem's resume the past 5 years. Not that impressive.

So this is a battle of the two most overhyped MMA fighters today no doubt and either can win this one and go no further.

Mikail, I agree he certainly could. His instincts are horrible. When a real wrestler gets tagged they often instictively will shoot or grab a leg. Brock's instinct is to turtle up. We saw it against Carwin and Cain and no reason to think he won't against Reem. I don't see either of these two as better than Cain or Junior at this point. I doubt either will be able to do anything in this bout to change my opinion on that.

Only way Lesnar has a chance is an early take down to ground and pound. I think Overeem's standup will prevent that.

Brock is not even close to the fighter he was 2 years ago. He's had his guts removed. And almost died twice. At the top of the ufc, if you're at anything less then prime condition, you don't have a chance. I'd say he's probably 70% of the fighter he was before his intestines began to rot.

It was obvious who the better fighter was in this. Lesnar looks slow and doesn't have the same force as he did two years ago. He usually comes out ready to get tko he came out slow and steady.

As others have said i wouldn't be surprsied if he retires. kind of had a late start into the ufc.

the lightweight match was by far my favorite fight of the night. rios owned that mofo in the first round.

i couldn't believe ufc actually allowed that 40 year year Russian to fight. Seriously that was the best guy they could line-up he had to be a fillin.

He quit before the match started. Can't make it anymore obvious. Dana used him to put Reem over and Lesnar just wanted another paycheck. You can tell he's not 100%.
