    I don't think so.

That 70's team is among the all-time great teams ever.

and they Jags and Panthers were the 2 expansion teams that year and they played the HOF game first exhibition game of the preseason there, and we went and watched.....

I'd take the 1960 Cowboys as the greatest NFL expansion team by the way

L.C. Greenwood, Jack Lambert, Mel Blount, Joe Greene and a cast of many others. As working units, the Baltimore Ravens defense alone won them a Super Bowl (no team can say that). The New York Giants, LT,Carson, Banks, etc are up there, and the Chicago Bears 1986 team with Mike Singeltary, Richard Dent, Steve McMichael.

Steele Curtain was the best that I've seen. The best single effort in a game was Lawrence Taylor in a 1988 Sunday night game against the Saints. LT was damaged and dominated. Like I said, Ravens as a unit are the only team to single handedly win a Super Bowl

the 2005 Squeelers pretty much won the super bowl on defense alone

Welcome back Chi Archie---the only thing is that the Steelers had Ben Rothlisberger (regardless of performance) and the 2000 Ravens had Trent Dilfer. There's simply no comparison in who's behind center

Big Ben was young and not yet good

if you put the (regardless of performance that particular year) asterisk there

you gotta figure in HOF-er Shannon Sharpe, Priest Holmes, and 2000 yard rusher Jamal Charles into the equation

Jerome Bettis (HOF) , Heinz Ward(future HOF), Randel-El, and rookie of the year Heath Miller are no slouches.

If I had to go to battle with a defense, I'd take Baltimore 2000 ----I'm excluding the other teams that we've mentioned and focusing in on the 2005 Steelers and the 2000 Ravens. Nevertheless, both were very good. Ed Reed and Ray Lewis are still bigtime players. (not the most likeable guys but two of the best ever)

The greatest ever to play defense was LT.
                                  Can not even argue that

Love him or hate him, who was a more pure cover corner than Deion.
Woodson was a all time great too.
                                  Ronnie Lott
Bruce Smith of those Bills teams was fearless
Deacon Jones would hand slap you into next Wednesday.
                                  Butkus, Mean Joe Greene.

                                  What about Ray Lewis?

Bettis isn't in yet.. and I think he had about 300 yards in 2005 with the fumble in Detroit that almost lost it for them
                                    Ward might not get in
Randle-el? hell give me quadry ismail before him any day

I agree though, I'd take that Ravens D as the all time modern greatest Defense, and winning it all with Dilfer was a greater stretch.....I looked it up and he had like a 76 qb rating that year....

                                        me? barely

it is actually the first super bowl I remember

but all I remember about it is flashes of McMahon and his head band, walter, Singleterry's eyes and Fridge getting the ball on the goal line.

                                        I was 8

but as any huge football fan, you learn alot more about the past as you grow up and grow in love with the game..... gosh living in chicago now for the past 8 years I can't remember a day NOT hearing about that 85 team....

off the top of my head I'm sure I missed half a dozen pro bowlers

but the combo of Kevin Greene, Greg Lloyd, Chad Brown, and Levon Kirkland HAS to be the greatest 4 LB's on the field for one team in history, no doubt
