I thought you were joking about Vida Blue, but that looks like that is correct. Good call.

Vida Blue is right he was a pitcher but was a switch hitter, so he really was not a hitter that won the MVP. So I put Mickey in case oakas wants the last real hitter that won the MVP as a switch hitter.

The only reason I remember that is I remember the Rangers broadcasters bringing that up when I was a kid back when he played for them in the late 70's. Damn, I'm old.

I am older than you. I remember 1973 series well (well not well enough to remember Knowles pitched in 7 games...LOL), I remember Finley trying to cut Mike Andrews after his error cost Oakland Game 2, claiming that he was injured. I also remember Yogi starting Tom Seaver in Game 6 with Mets up 3-2 when he could have saved him for Game 7 by starting George Stone in Game 6.

Good one LT.
Who was the player that Charley Finley wanted to replace Mike Andrews?

That I don't remember,. although since you asked the question, I assume it was somebody that became quasi-famous. Something keeps telling me it was that career pinch-runner Washington?
