how long does it take you to detox from gambling at the end of a season or when you go bust and don't want to reload?
also, how do you go about detoxing?

yeah mentally - i.e. how long does it take for you to stop looking at the next day's lines, thinking about having an offshore balance, what the spread is in the games you now just casually watch, etc.
and how do you go about re-acclimating yourself to normal routines, getting back in touch with friends, etc.?

the latter - i.e. you allow yourself only one nice deposit a season and hopefully cash out its balance by the end of the season, or you bust prior to season end. either way, you're done at season-end and are tired of gambling.
whether you're cashing out a season-end balance or you've gone bust shouldn't affect the way you detox from gambling, or does it?

i think yes. if you can stop at all then you arent a degen. and i would think you will gradually get over not having action. if you were a degen it would be almost equal to alcoholism

so some people just keep reloading no matter what and no matter what sports are in season?
i'm just talking about your typical football bettor who goes at it full throttle for the season and maybe dabbles in some hoops when football is winding down, but is basically done when football ends. the football season betting took over most of his life (esp. mentally) during that time and now they want to return to normal.

They say that about weed smokers who maybe dabble with some coke or e. In the end you will be ******.

Contact a physician specializing in addiction medicine. If you have a job that gives you benefits (or an entitlement, as the Republicans and Boner might deem it), then your company would pay for this. Contact people specializing in this field, and they would gladly answer your questions. I am in the medical field, and gambling addiction does indeed have withdrawal symptoms, from what I have read. There are also medications that might assist you when prescribed by a qualified physician, but I think all of these vary and can only be determined by an intake specialist and people accredited in the field. Some programs employ inpatient treatment temporarily, while others do not. It depends on the person. If you think you might have a problem, then like Robmpink states above, you probably do. Hopefully, you work where you have this benefit, then you can be successfully treated free of charge. I wish you all the best. If you do have a problem and refuse to get treatment, you will probably wind up broke and alone and maybe even in jail.

rob - so you just make a clean break at the end of football season then? if so, that's smart. how long does it take for you to get back into a regular rhythm again?

see what you're saying, but i'm talking about the non-addiction cases.
just wanting to know how long it takes most people to go back to a normal way of living after an intense football (or their sport of choice) betting season? they're not reloading anymore nor do they have any desire to do so - they're simply done and tired of it.

Para, I haven't been able to make a clean break at anytime. I've blown through over 100k, divided my family, etc. If you have a brain and are having trouble controlling your urges, stop and don't ruin your life.

You say 'detox.' Detox infers you have a problem. If you don't have a problem you would not need to 'detox.'
You posted this question because you have problems. robmpink gave you the best answer and advice and you simply dismissed him. Sad.
Sbr is full of people who wish things were different for them. 100k is nothing close to chump change for the average joe.
Get help buddy. Sbr is not the answer.

You are using the complete wrong word here in detox
You don't get fkn cold sweats and the shakes and shits from stopping gambling.
You aren't even really making much sense not quite sure what you're getting at?

The best way to detox is multiple 20 dollar deposits on a daily basis until your "healed." Makes you feel, hmmmm, in control.
