I will ask around. Wynn isn't hiring right now. A lot of guys just start out as writers and if they can show up to work everyday on time, balance their bank and not do anything dumb for a few months they get promoted to sup or mgr.

I think JJ would be awesome at this. He knows how the betting public thinks and will make a ton for the book every year.

i know gritter does.. and we have all heard Fisher's stories..
how come u never call anybody by their posting name? its like u come up with names for all of us Coach =)
i still dont think either one of them will get you a job in vegas... Gritter is too smart.. at least i hope he is...
and well Fisher... I doubt he can "just make a call" and get you a job at any book... yet alone 10 right now brother...
he might be able to get you a part time gig maybe for super bowl.. but even then i doubt it..
i been going to vegas on the regular for the last 5 years... Not a big shot.. but i visit at least 3-4 times a year... and let me tell u.. the books out there still have the same guys writing tickets every time i visit...
Shit i went to the venetian two weeks ago.. and now that its a Cantor book i figured it was all different.. Yeah the Manager was different.. but the writers are the same guys..
However Fish is telling the truth.. u can become a manager... This asian dude that used to always take care of me.. is now one of the managers at the venetian..

Worked at Venetian for 4 years in some good jobs. Still in contact with many department heads so pulling your ticket number from sports book took a phone call. Getting surveillance to run a tape back to the transaction took a phone call.
At Wynn now and according to our in house job page there are no openings in race and sports right now. They usually are hiring though. High turnover rate.
Biggest question is can you pass a 90 day drug test via hair sample and where would they get the hair from you to test?
I have to know someone well first hand to vouch for them for employment. If you are in Vegas before Jan 6th I can fit in a meeting. After that I will be in Macau and you could meet with the guy who got me into the business and see what he can do.

I got offered too good of a career opportunity to do some great projects for Wynn in Macau. I was already there for 5 months working and came back for holidays. Girlfriend is originally from Hong Kong so she gets to spend time with father who is ill and has been offered a good job in retail management. I play with locals in Macau and have my Pinny, BetFair and a few other accounts. Prefer dealing with locals though. They pay same day if I want.

Hey Gritter if you get me a job is it tough to run a small credit operation in the book using regular casino customers as my base?
I will still punch up tickets but also refer them to an offshore credit site??

You would get fired in less than a week trying that and likely charged by police and gaming control. Others have tried it.

Fishhead, if he didn't believe you when you said it the first time, why would your "guarantee" mean anything?

Excellent point for certain........if JJ indeed did not believe me the first time.
However, he knows damn well I could................in fact, he has already been offerred a job at one well known strip location without him even asking.

Considering that I've known the manager there for well over 20 years(John Avello) and worked together with him for a couple years in the same capacity(supervisor/oddsmaker).....................this would and could be an option................however, there are a few other venues where JJ would probably prefer to get his feet wet at other than the Wynn................but as mentioned earlier, the Wynn is certainly one of at least 10 options that I could provide the kid.

John A is a great guy who people can learn a lot from but if there are no openings in dept he can't create a job for jj. Besides, jj isn't a good fit for Wynn. I have no doubt FH could land jj a job somewhere in town. He'll end up being a security guard at South Point or some shit.
Yisman- FH is a storyteller. Said he hit a 6k progressive jackpot at Planet Hollywood a little while back and it never happened. A former employee of mine works there and ran sds jackpot reports for not just the day FH said he won, but the entire week and no progressive for anything close to 6k was hit.

Well, your friend is/was misinformed or missed it..................just sayin.....................
As far as no openings now at the Wynn, this is usually the case at most sportsbooks as football ends to a close..........................the best time to land a job in most sportsbooks is just before the onset of football season.

...............and for the record, the actual progressive hit was actually more than 6k, as the 6k was just my cut.

When JJ does finally move here, my guess is his job careers will travel down the following paths................
PART-TIME sportsbook employee(will only do for a year or two at most)
Full-time SBR figurehead/video producer
PART-TIME video poker/slot player

By the way, speaking of the WYNN, anyone going there before NEW YEARS can check out the FERRARI SHOWROOM totally free(normal charge is $15)..............somewhat interesting if one is into cars...................seeing the DAYTONA 1-2 finishing cars was pretty cool.
Also, SMALL video poker tip....................if one does not have a slot card there yet, one can put a mere 300 pts on their card and get a free spin at the promos desk for a chance to win 10 freeplay minumim with a chance at much higher...............and the bonus kicker if one is a local and has no problem frequeting the WYNN on a weekly basis is they will offer you 10 bucks a week in slot play for 5 straight weeks.......................not much obviously, but as stated, worth doing if one frequents the joint weekly for whatever reason.
By the way, free WIFI is available in the Wynn sportsbook.

Wynn too high end for me anyway and I do not have the look
I need to be running a local joint whereas the local players can relate too
I am sure Fishhead can get me a job just by snapping his fingers
