As an atheist and a gambler, I've wanted him to fail 3 times in his last 7 starts.

Guys who wear lucky shirts or socks, guys who have to enter the field very last or first. Guys who have to eat a certain meal or speak to a certain family member before the game.

Tebow (to me) is just another player who uses a chosen superstition to get past the mental part of winning & losing. He just shares the superstition with millions of others, so the same folks who pray for rain and fight science, provide an instant bond and supportive audience for him.

Today I cheered against him and wanted him to fail.

But the eyes don't lie. The kid has had a great run over the last few weeks but his inadequacies as a QB are ignored because the lazy story is "the guy just wins."

That said, I thought he played better AS A QB today than in the past few weeks. Made some nice throws (made some bad ones too). And now that he lost, maybe we can have this discussion. It just won't be as fun as the other sensational story. It doesn't capture the imagination in the same way.
