GOLD SHEET
DENVER 28 - New England 22—The ultimate accurate pocket passer
(Tom Brady) meets the ultimate unorthodox NFL QB (Tim Tebow). In his last
five games, Brady has 13 TDs vs. 1 interception. Meanwhile, Tebow has now
has 11 TDs vs. 2 ints. for the season, not to mention an inspiring 7 wins in 8
starts (six straight). Plus, Tebow has thrown for more than 200 yards (despite
some key drops) in two straight games. N.E.’s battered & bruised defense was
last in yards before giving up 463 more last week in Washington. Denver’s
eager defenders much better than that, with LB D.J. Williams joining Von Miller
& Elvis Dumervil in the pass rush. Pats “over” 24 of last 32 games.

*DENVER over NEW ENGLAND by 7
The legend of Tim Tebow only grows by the week, as the team with the muchmaligned
quarterback just keeps winning and threatens to make converts out of all
of us. What’s missing from the public narrative is how well the Broncos defense has
played, at the most opportune times, while Tebow the quarterback seems to transform
into an effective passer when it suits his team best. This week they host a New
England team playing their third road game in four weeks and struggling to contain
opposing offenses. Things got so bad that Tom Brady and his offensive coordinator
Bill O’Brien were seeing screaming at each other after a Brady red zone interception
last week. It’s too bad that’s not going to help a defense that has set a team record
for number of player transactions in one season (although at least half of those have
seemingly involved back-up safety, and self-proclaimed warrior poet, Ross
Ventrone). With undrafted free agents and back-up players manning the majority of
their defense, it’s no wonder that the worst offenses in the league have been shredding
the Patriots. Just wait ‘til “God” has his way with them. Ride this train for all it’s
worth, especially when they are getting points. DENVER, 28-21.

It’s downright spooky what’s going on in Denver with Tim Tebow and the Broncos.
If Tebow can move the ball against any team it’s the Patriots. They rank last in total
defense. This isn’t going to be easy for Bill Belichick’s troops traveling into high
altitude dealing with a spirited crowd. It’s New England’s third road game during
the past four weeks. Tebow has an 11-to-2 touchdown-to-interception ratio. But
his passing numbers certainly aren’t fancy. All he does is will and lead his team to
victories. Denver is 7-1 since Tebow became the man, 6-2 ATS. This includes six
consecutive wins. It’s not all about Tebow. John Fox has done a terrific job coaching,
Willis McGahee is running well and the defense has greatly improved. If you
discount the Broncos’ performance two weeks ago against Minnesota in a dome,
they’ve allowed only 46 points in the last 19 quarters. Denver hasn’t allowed more
than 13 points in four of its past five games despite two of those contests going
into overtime. Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski and Wes Welker are all having magnificent
years. They can’t cover up the fact that the Patriots have been outgained
during their past three games. Just two years ago, the Patriots traveled to Denver
and lost. Now it happens again. DENVER 26-20.
