If I liquidate my 401k I will have a nice bankroll of about $812. I might go pro. I think I might focus on parlays for now and then play that game Caribbean Stud poker at a casino in Lake Charles.

Horrible analogy. Sharp businessmen don't gamble. They are the house. They are the bank. They buy politicians. They rig the game in their favor to mitigate risk.

Not entirely true if you are not born rich. Most have to borrow capital for initial startup.

Here's a tip - whatever class you are born into, it's a stone cold mortal lock that you will die there.

Donald Trump is an example of a person born into money.
His dad left him with over $50 million. Now Donald did make it into a billion, which is beyond impressive. Although still, born rich.

Yep. He was born into a life freeroll. Losses are socialized while profits are privatized. His companies filed for bankruptcy 4 times, but what does he care? It's not like he'd ever have to worry about making rent in a crappy apartment. Just kept rolling the dice until he hit.

So you think that the only sharp businessmen are big shot corp execs?
Back then, popcorn kernals were sold loose in the market. One day, a guy came up with a brilliant idea to put the kernals in a microwavable bag. The man is now a millionaire.
He was an independent businessman with a creative vision. These guys don't care about politics. They take calculated risks. There are so many types of businessmen. The real successful ones in my opinion are not the CEOs or execs working for already established companies (unless you are teh founder i.e. gates, zukkerberg). They are the guys that come up with the innovative, pioneering vision. Even if its a simple repackaging idea.

I think the big shots have figured out how to rake most of the small money off the table. Innovation doesn't really exist anymore in the way you are describing it. Try to bring a product to market and tell me how it goes.
I help big corps do it for a living, so I'll be watching. If, by some miracle, you manage to carve out a market share, I'm just going to take it from you anyway. I'll start by offering you insulting amount of money just to see if you'll save me the trouble. If not, I'll take your idea, produce it in Chindia using peasant labor, and then throw huge money into marketing because rubes eat it up. Thanks for the free money.
