Tim Tebow responds to Brian Urlacher

"He's a good running back ... He does a good job for them," Urlacher told reporters when asked about Tebow.

When asked what he thought of the passing of Tebow, who was 21-of-40 for 236 yards with a touchdown and an interception, Urlacher praised Tebow's scrambling ability.

Tebow was told about Urlacher calling him a running back and did not take offense.

"Coming from a really good player, that means a lot," Tebow said.

The Bears were not in a great mood after surrendering a 10-0 fourth-quarter lead, and considering Tebow's passer rating was 68.3, they decided to spread around their respect for the Broncos instead of singling out the quarterback.

"We missed some opportunities in the game," Bears defensive end Julius Peppers said. "We got to finish better. That's pretty much it. It wasn't anything special he did."

Bears linebacker Lance Briggs praised the competitiveness of Tebow, who is 7-1 as a starter, including wins in his last six.

"Played hard," Briggs said. "I respect a guy who plays hard. Him and all the other 10 guys on the field for the Broncos."

Bears coach Lovie Smith also spread the praise around.

"He was able to scramble around and keep plays alive that allowed receivers chances to get open," Smith said. "He's a good football player, but they have other good football players. They're a good football team. ... Tebow is a leader of their team, normally the quarterback dictates a lot as to who wins the game, and he definitely had a big part in that today. "

Tebow is kind of like that kid you can't stand for no real reason. I remember we had a kid similar to that when I was in high school. I didn't hate the kid, but he just grinded on your nerves. He wasn't very social, and was a bookworm. We would shoot basketball, and his athletic skills had very little to be desired. He was slow, had an awkward shot, and looked nothing like your prototypical player. The thing is, every time we would play a game of 36, he almost always won. It would tick all of us off deep down, because we knew, one on one, we could slaughter the kid, but he just always came through in the clutch. There are just some people out there that have "it", and it can be a nuisance to the prototypical player.

It ridiculous that people think you "hate" Tebow simply because you criticize his game. I think the guy is a class act and always handles himself well when criticized by other players. His response in this Urlacher situation was perfect. However, I maintain that Tebow will not be a long term success in the nfl and will probably not be starting for the broncos this time next season because of injury or benching. That doesn't mean I hate him, just that I don't believe someone with limited passing ability can be successful long term in the nfl. Just because people criticize Tebow, doesn't mean they "hate" him.

You can't blame tebow or credit Chicago's D for receivers dropping passes that should've caught. There were a few & any one of them being caught could have had a profound impact on the game.
