    I dont get it.

They were offered three solid players for paul (though with little upside) or they were offered two good young players and a lottery pick. Obviously the NBA will not allow paul to be traded.

They somehow think that that after he opts out (and he will) they he will stay in NO for more money (a bird deal will pay 5/94 an open market deal is 4/62). But he's already going to throw away the 17 mil next just to get out of or NO.

you'd think NO would take the young talent minus gordon and hope to build a future with kaman's contract expiring next year. this would also have been a good thing for bledsoe and aminu forcing them to play big minutes. they both are a work in progress, but do have potential.

i read the clippers were willing to give up gordon but not both gordon and bledsoe... are you fuken kidding me stern you pos? now i'm hoping mo williams doesn't completely suck this year and the clips signing someone awesome next year. maybe we might see cp3 in a clippers uniform after all.

also, losing gordon would have kinda sucked even with cp3 as the clippers would not have any shooters to compliment the inside game.

For years, Los Angeles Lakers fans have blamed former NBA commissioner David Stern for vetoing a trade that would have sent All-Star point guard Chris Paul to the Purple and Gold from the New Orleans Hornets.

While it changes absolutely nothing at this point in time, Stern has decided to share some more details concerning what happened between the Lakers, Hornets and Houston Rockets after the initial deal was vetoed as, according to Stern, it was actually Mitch Kupchack that kept the deal from being re-worked in the end.

            Via Nunyo & Company:

In fact, in the course of the weekend, we thought we could re-do the deal. We really thought that Houston would be ready to part with (Kyle) Lowry, and we had a trade lined up for Odom that would have gotten us a good first-round draft pick – not we, but my basketball folks. But Mitch Kupchak at the time panicked and moved Odom to Dallas. So the piece wasn’t even there for us to play with at the time. So that was it — just about what was good for the then-New Orleans Hornets.

With many fans already holding a grudge against Kupchak and Jim Buss for the way that they handled the direction of the franchise during their tenure in the front office, this revelation from Stern will almost certainly just add fuel to the fire for their detractors.

Obviously, this is only Stern's side of the story and it seems safe to assume that Kupchak could very well remember things different but, if we're taking the former head of the league at his word, potentially passing on the opportunity to pair Paul with Kobe Bryant is a decision that the team's former GM has to regret.
