Sort of like proline in Canada except it would be online. They ban all the other books (that aren't already banned) thus having 100% monopoly share. They would have the standard -110 odds so there wouldn't be any major uproar.

This could easily bring in millions.

I think that would be a brilliant idea....Would bring in a crap load of revenue so the republicans could actually pay for all thier tax cuts....I think they should also take out a monopoly on Marijuana....help keep kids away from drug dealers and bring in more revenue, free up the prisons and law enforcement, and hell yeah

If they were smart they would just follow the UK model but insist that any book serving US players must be US based for tax purposes.

I don't like it one bit. It's going to be so poorly mismanaged that it will somehow end up costing all of taxpayers...guaranteed. Without competition, there's no quality checks. The best case scenario and one that will never happen is the U.S. legalizes sports gambling...allotting a set number of licenses (at first). These books could not only compete for U.S. gamblers, but they could do their damnedest to try and attract gamblers from other regions of the world. This would bring in even greater revenues. There's one thing for certain, quite a few gamblers around the globe would rather place their bets in a U.S. book, then in a number of books being operated in certain countries.

Add prostitution to the list also.

                  And no more alcohol controls.

Maybe if they legalize all this stuff, they can stop taxing cigarettes so damn much.
