it has been that way since i was a kid in the 70s.Whenever Jan 1 falls on a Sunday they move all the games and the Rose Parade to Monday even before NFL Went this late.There has not been tradition in sports for a while now The Orange Bowl used to be the last game Played now there are several Bowl Games after new Years so does it really mattter anymore if they play on new years day anymore.The day they installed lights at Wrigley Field was the day traditon in sports died

Emily, is this your year following college football?

Because, since 1961 when the NFL had their playoffs on January 1st (the season ended in December back then), the college bowl games moved off of New Year's to the following day.

It has happened in 1961, 1967, 1978, 1984, 1989, 1995, and 2006.

How the hell are you just learning about this now?
