Season finale of Boardwalk Empire followed by a sneak preview first episode of the much touted horse racing and gambling series Luck. Doesn't get any better than that. Kudos to HBO.

My brothers swear by Board Walk, I watched the first season and wasn't all that impressed. I guess I was hoping for a more sopranos esque series. Also, never heard anything about Luck. Definitely will be checking it out.

In Luck, Dustin Hoffman, playing his first TV role ever, plays a gambler who did hard time taking a fall for some other Dudes...now he's back. Nick Nolte, essentially plays himself and is a broken down Kentucky horse trainer down on his luck. He, I think, finds himself at Santa Anita with one more chance with the "big horse'.

Borardwalk I really had to stay with for awhile. It moved rather slow, but finally, it is packing the promised punch IMO.

Yeah i cant believe it either, that would be like knocking christopher off in season 2 of the sopranos, i watched luck for about 15 minutes and turned it off, fukking horrible. Boardwalk empire is gonna be a great series over the next decade or so just like sopranos was, i am from atlantic city too so it appeals to me even more.

'Boardwalk' was its usual self. Worth watching, but never seems to interest me enough for tuning in regularly.

'Luck' was not bad, but I'd expect a premiere to be a little better. A bunch of guys sitting around for the whole show planning a Pick Six ticket and rooting it in isn't much. Still has some promise with hints shown of the future weeks though. Guess they had to come up with some way for these guys to make a score so they'd have money to get in trouble with through the rest of the season.
