Do you count parlays/PL in your win/loss tally?
Saturday was a brutal day for me. 2-10 on the day. Seems like I have one of these every football season, where every pick I make is the wrong one. I know its going to happen, just never know when.

My question is this.......out of the 10 losses, 2 were longshot 4 team parlays, and 2 others were PL losses in Hockey. The reality of these types of bets is that there for awesome odds, because they have a very low opportunity to win. I also always put small $$$ on these bets. One of my plays was a $20 - 4 teamer that would've paid like $1690. Needless to say......it didn't.

And yes, I realize parlays are -EV. But fukk it, I REALLY would like to hit one someday.

Sooooo....do you guys count these as losses in your sheet?

I do. Otherwise you are not keeping track of what could be causing you to lose money.

Of course but in doing so (in your own records, not necessarily on your SBR spreadsheet) you need to normalise based on the odds.

Someone who makes 100 plays on -200 favorites can't claim a winning record when he hits 63% of them, the same is true in reverse.

Longshot parlays? No. ML parlays of favorites, PL/alternate lines/RRL/etc, absolutely.

Why not count longshot parlays as well?

A loss is a loss. Win/Loss record doesn't matter, only thing that matters is + money.

If I'm betting 100 per game, and I decide to throw in a long shot parlay, I'm not betting 100 bucks on it, maybe 20 or 10 bucks.

if you keep a solid account of everything, keep the dumb shit separate so that your already demoralizing record doesnt push you into suicide mode when you start thinking of things you could have bought with all the money you have given to the books...

oh, wait...i forgot, everyone here wins...
