Two kids are on a ten hour car ride. Brother number 1 is young enough and has short enough legs that he still enjoys long car rides. We'll call him "Carter." Brother number 2 is a little older and no longer content watching passing cars or scenery, and his books or his game boy are no longer interesting. We'll call him "Bill." Well now that Bill is a older and taller, his legs don't stretch out as comfortably in the back seat as the younger shorter Carter. And Bill is jealous.

Bill is jealous of Carter's shorter legs and roomier ride. He is jealous that Carter is not bored, he is jealous that Carter enjoys reading his books, he is jealous that Carter doesn't seem to mind the long trip. But more than being jealous, Bill is upset that Carter doesn't chime in with him when he asks mom and dad "Are we there yet?"

And Bill, unable to sit still or express himself properly, in this jealous state and envious of the calm of his brother, well he takes to disturbing Carter's peace by nudging and pinching him, trying all sorts of other little maneuvers to cause him pain and annoyance, because Bill is unhappy, Bill is bored, and Bill wants attention. A kick of the foot here, a pinch of the elbow there, whatever he can do to upset Carter. Because Bill doesn't know what to do with himself, and not having a solution to his own troubles, Bill would rather cause trouble to others, to see those around him be annoyed and as miserable as he is, because if he can't enjoy the ride, why should Carter?

And while Carter is the younger brother, he isn't intimidated. Just annoyed. He just wants to be left alone to read, to go about his business getting through the trip. Only Bill won't let him. At first Carter just ignores it, but that just makes Bill even more active. And then Carter just gives Bill a couple angry glares. But Bill keeps on. Carter tries to go back to reading, simply brushing Bill's hands and feet away when he makes contact. But there is no relief, Bill's attacks intensify. Carter doesn't want to be a tattle tale, but eventually he is overwhelmed, and it comes out. "Stop it!" he yelps.

"What's going on back there?" mom inquires.

"Nothing." the two boys sheepishly respond in unison.

And the boys sit silently for a minute, until Bill starts poking Carter again. And again, and again. And Carter gets fed up, "Stop TOUCHING me!" he shouts.

"Bill, stop touching your brother." Mom says.

"Okay" Bill says, lowering his head.

And Bill waits for mom to turn around and get distracted by the radio, and then he begins waving his hands right in front of Carter's face, preventing him from reading, and keeping the hands hovering all around Carter's body an inch or two away from making contact. Bill leans in an whispers, "I'm not touching you, I'm not touching you, I'm not touching you." Carter smacks Bill's hands away. Bill keeps at it. Carter smacks the hands away again, and Bill comes back. Well eventually Carter's had enough, and he waits for Bill to lean in one more time, and then Carter takes the spine of his book and swings it as hard as he can at Bill's face. WHACK. Tears well up in Bills eyes and he starts crying, "MOM, CARTER HIT ME!"

That ladies and gentlemen, is the story here with these Berkley Protestors. They are just a bunch of Bills.

They were given ample opportunities to remove themselves from where they were. There are hundreds of other places on campus they could have had their protest, but that wasn't good enough, and it wasn't good enough because in those other places no one paid attention to them. So they had to go find a place where they were in everyone's way, where they had to be noticed. Where they had to be paid attention to. And they were paid attention. Nice, calm, respectful attention. And they were asked to leave. Once, twice, a third time. But they wouldn't. And they wouldn't move because they knew what they were doing. They WANTED to force the issue. They WANTED to push the administration and local law enforcement into making a move, because that was the only way to get people to take notice and feel sympathetic. They were asked to leave. They didn't. They were told to leave. They didn't. They were told to leave or they would be sprayed. They stayed, and they were sprayed. And then they go and whine about like a a little kid who eventually got smacked by his little brother who was tired of taking his bullshit. Just like a Bill.

And that's all these pussies are, just a bunch of bored, miserable, attention starved Bills.

Just saw one of the kids that got sprayed in an interview with Ed Shultz....dude said he's physically and emotionally traumatized for life....when asked what he's done since he replied " you know...I'm just camped here with my friends and we're just doing art work and playing music...and you kbow discusiing how we're gonna make a future for America" ??? What a joke....just shows that while other kids on campus are in class learning a career skill or working waiting tables to oay for books instead of taking a loan on credit....these guys are finger painting and singing songs for a couple years and tgen when they get their degree in post Renaissance literature and are in debt with loans and no company will hire them over the guy with the required education to add to the company's viability to meet the demands of the rest of society...these kids camping will be homeless and on welfare and bitching about unfairness.....gimme a fukkin break.

Machines have reduced a great deal of manpower need, and is the number one reason why wages have decreased in most sectors. But machines still have to be designed and operated. And the folks who design, operate, repair those machines want to be rewarded for all their hard work. There aren't too many people who want to sit around all day and write code because their heart compels them to do it. And even the ones that do, they do it for personal contraptions and not the type of products society wants/demands. Those products are only produced because they make money.
