Paterno, didn't see this act happen, he heard about it, and then he told the Athletic Director. It's an ugly situation but I don't believe he approved of what happened I don't think he participated in it directly the only thing he is guilty of along with the witness and the AD is not getting on the phone and calling the police. It's wrong but many people see crimes and don't do anything about them because it is easier than getting involved.
