Jackson is very unreliable. He is prone to having terrible starts that can put your team at a huge advantage. Great stuff, not enough control. He could be great if he figured out how to harness it. So far he has not, which is part of the reason he was moved all over. Don Cooper couldn't fix him and it doesn't look like Duncan has either. Those are the two best pitching coaches in the game.

Jackson has actually pitched very good for the Cards since coming over...and in some big spots too. Whoever thinks the phillies is a LOCK is somewhat mistaken in my opinion. The game last night was dead even, a toss up, with 1 big hit by Francisco, really could have gone either way if not for that. Oswalts a hall of fame pitcher but he can get touched up at times. Im staying away from this game

Again, there is no such thing as a "lock". Jackson could very well come up big, but he could also struggle. He played for the White Sox so I am pretty familiar with him. I think the Cards were smart to pick up Jackson. I feel like Oswalt is more consistent, so I lean Phillies but who knows. Its the cost that makes the Phills riskier IMO.

I like the over the best-what with Oswalt's struggles in St. Louis and Philly being due to smash some pitchers donut. Lets face it Edwin Jackson is a middle of the road MLB pitcher, nothing special.

I would play Stl at +119 or so for this game as Jackson has pitched much better in the second half and Oswalt is not as good as before the back injury.
