You should be thankful to have a job, pal. There are millions of Americans (yes, ones that actually want to work) that can't find a job. Cities and towns have put pay freezes on cops, firefighters, and teachers...so don't think you're the only one not getting a raise. It's a shit economy right now, do the smart thing and keep going to work.

if you are working 80hrs a week, you should be making damn good money in overtime etc....if you are on salary and arent being compensated for all the overtime, i would cut 50hrs out of that 80 and either get a 2nd job or just sit back and do as little as possible...as others said, if you quit, you wont get unemployment and gambling more wont be the best thing, thats a guarantee

Never understood the sense of entitlement when it comes to raises each year... look around... be glad you have a job, and be glad you aren't being told you are taking a reduction in pay. I know many people who have lost 5% in the last few years

80 hours a week doing what? divided by 5, that's 16 hours a day, not possible. divided by 6, 13.33 hours a day, unlikely. divided by 7, 10.2 hours a day. leaves no time for gambling. no business is that booming that they need you to "work" this many hours. total fraudulent post.

Gotta tell ya, when I was an intern/resident, I was working 110 hours a week...of course, I was on call in the hospital every 2nd or 3rd nite...

Road construction workers work around that many hours a week. They dont bitch about it either, they would work as much as possible. Getting paid about 40$ an hour in overtime isn't something to complain about.

the human body couldn't work 80 hours a week on road construction. by the third day total exhaustion would set in and production would tail off considerably. that's why they have 2 shifts to do it. probably a 6am-4pm and a 4pm-12am shift. no one works both. when and how could you sleep or eat or do anything else. why would they want to pay overtime and get a tired worker, when they could hire two fresh crews and pay out little overtime. common sense prevails here. griz is not that valuable to any employer to need him to work from 5am-10pm. get real.

cause once u get into the working world, u can and sometimes DO work that much

EDIT: Cheaper to pay OT then hire two crews. Company pays only one set of benefits as opposed to two. Also, some people working over 40 hours a week (me) produce better quality work than some schmuck who only wants to work 35 a week (you)

Also we work globally. So as the clock turns, there is always a new days worth of work. Example: 5am we are working Europe. By the end of the normal work day, we are working Asia. Comprende?
