1. It cost a shit load
2. No time due to work commitments etc.
3. Dental fear/anxiety
4. Poor perceived need for oral health (you think you teeth are healthy but they are actually fkd up)
5. Simply do not give a fk about your teeth and you got falsies anyways

I had a root canal the last time I went to the dentist, maybe 3 years ago. He was scraping away and I heard a crack and he said "oops". He broke my molar in half.
Last time I was at the dentist.
I just figure brushing with baking soda and rinsing with fluoride, and regular flossing should do the trick

Now thats a story! The dentist probably fractured the root of your tooth. Did you get that tooth taken out and got an implant? Plenty of bills involved there.

Baking soda.....that stuff aint gd for your teeth homie, just use toothpaste. If your concerned about the staining why not use an abrasive toothpaste 2 x a week even.

Flossing....FK FLOSSING the old way, there are these new gadgets that you can get which clean between your teeth a lot easier. Get on it...trust me. I think their called Flossetes? Google that shyt.

Just got back from booking an appointment with a new dentist. Last visit was over 6 months ago.

6 months seems to be the consensus here.
Is it necessary to go to the dentist every 6 months for a check-up? Especially if your oral health is reasonably well maintained. I think 6-monthly visits would only be warranted if you have some sort of chronic condition such as chronic gingivitis/periodontal disease- For a scale/clean.

I don't see the need for going every 6 months. If you take care of your teeth and gums, what's the issue? I use an electric toothbrush and a waterpik, along with flossing. I last went to the dentist in June of 2010, and had zero cavities, and everything was fine.

I agree. I would consider your situation low risk. Visits once a year should suffice in these cases, even if they find no cavities, its good to know that you have maintained you oral health well for an entire year. I also use an electric toothbrush and its the best thing since slice bread. Additionally I use a mouth rinse twice weekly (curasept mouthrinse) which doesnt stain your teeth.

Gd on ya. Sounds like you may be seeing a periodontist. Keep on top of you home care to maintain what has been done professionally. You may want to use a mouth rinse as well, with chlorhexidine preferably.
