No you are wrong sir. I've been watching baseball for over 55 years and taken as a whole I've never seen anything like this night before. This surpasses the Bobby Thomson HR and "The Giants Win The Pennant" call.

i agree. i hate baseball but i was glued to the tv switching back n forth. couldnt get any more crazy. every thing unlikely to happen happened tonight. everybody said the braves couldnt lose. the ray down 7-0 in the 8th. nobody thought the redsox could lose to the orioles when it mattered most. and the rays and my cards both cut nearly doubledigit leads down to zero on the last day of the season?? yeah this was one of the best days in baseball history imo.
the only thing missing is that there wont be any tie-breaker games tomorrow.

Actually I'm right
Gibsons homer was the greatest moment in MLB history and if you disagree then you definitely didn't see it live. A's were unstoppable, Eckersley was unhittable and Gibson could barely walk. That one moment gave two of baseball's greatest calls ever....one by vin scully and one by jack buck. Greatest sports moment in history IMO

yanks almost swept boston over the weekend and took them to extras sun night
have a large amount on ny at +220? or maybe a red sox future??? awful sour tonight
redsox got exactly what they deserve. Got high price talent that did not measure up. I am also glad the braves did not make it because there are better teams in baseball that did not make it. Braves manager freddie gonzalez needs to get fired. With a full count in the bottom of the 12th inning, you should send the runner especially when the phillies pitcher was throwing offspeed stuff. This would have kept the braves out of a double play and have another hitter up with a chance to tie the game. Earlier in the game, the braves had a runner picked off trying to steal a base. 2 hitters later a homerun. It was a 2 run homer but could have been a 3 run jack. Braves also had base runner thrown out at home. These extra outs did not help their cause. Braves get caught stealing a base right before a homerun and should have had the base runner goin on a 3-2 count in the bottom of the 12th inning. If these sorry baseball teams (redsox and braves) had made it to the playoffs, they would not have made it too far. I have a new favorite spoiler team, the orioles.
hovering well about 99% for most of August... 99.76 I saw at one point...

Only people disagreeing are yankee haters or red sox lovers which is obviously understandable but even so you cant deny not only the insaness of it all but the timing was what topped it off

Not a big baseball fan but this was the best last day of the regular season i've watched for over 40 years. You had 4 teams that needed to win, one won going away, one lost in the bottom of the 9th inning, two going into extra innings with one needing 7 runs to tie in the 8th inning even if the Yankees wasn't playing their best players. Even without their best players they forced TB to score 7 runs with 2 inning left just to tie. And TB came through. Great nite for baseball.
