I think I'm observing the same behavior as well, but haven't compared with the books.

Both the old site and new site are down for the second Saturday morning in a row...to start the college football season...2-2....

The new site is completely down and the old site is not updating.

As you say, it's tough to bitch about something that's free and I really love their mobile odds capabilities for my smartphone. However, I will not be cancelling my SI sub anytime soon...
