The Rockets have scored more than 40 points seven times and more than 50 points four times and averaged 221.2 yards rushing and 272.0 passing. Their defense gave up an average of 30 points. Air Force scored 45 points in its last 2 games and the defense has surrendered more than 30 points five times. Air Force's wins came over teams with a combined 23-54 record. Toledo has had some turnover on staff but it should be smooth as their offensive coordinator, Matt Campbell, has been named their head coach. He's a player's coach and (although they suck and are usually undisciplined in the long run) it will give the players a lift going into the bowl game similar to that of Bill Snyder when he took over for Rich Rod. He will also stay in the booth to minimize any change for this game. Toledo's offense is potent and features a balanced attack with 2 equally good QBs so it should be tough to prepare for and Adonis Thomas and Eric Page are difference makers that AF doesn't have.Everyone knows about Air Forces ground attack but the best part of Toledo's defense is it's run defense. I do think both teams will get their points but Toledo will get more stops than Air Force and they will force the Falcons to have to throw more to keep pace. These are two creative offensive coaches. The wind gusts don't bother me because of each teams ability to run the football but it does concern me that neither has played since Nov 25 and might be a bit rusty or I would go more on the over. I do think there will be a lag time for Toledo to adjust to the speed of AF's option so AF might get an early lead but Toledo has had plenty of time to prepare for it.

some more tidbits on early game:
Toledo is 3rd in the country in turnover margin gaining 28 and losing 12. They are 26th in rushing defense and 24th in 3rd down defense. Air Force is 29th in redzone defense but Toledo counters with the 7th ranked redzone offense. Toledo also has the 24th ranked 3rd down defense. I either had to side with Toledo or nothing in this game as they have almost all of the edges here.Comment -

Mack Brown is the most overrated coach in the country. He should give Vince Young a hand job every day for that ring. He's 11-7 straight up but 7-11 ATS in bowls and 4-8 ATS as a fave. Jeff Tedford is 5-2 overall,3-4 ATS but 1-0 as a dog. This is going to be a defensive ball game on both ends but Cal has the much better offense. They are the 13th ranked redzone offense in the country but they also have the better redzone defense as well. Points will be harder to get in this game and Cal has the better chance on both ends of the field. Cal is also better in turnover margin as well. This is more of a fade of Texas.
