Monday night:
San Fran ML -145 2 units
under 38 1 unit
6.5 point teaser SF +3.5 under 44.5 1 unit
parlay SF -2.5 -130 , under 37.5 1unit
The SF defense gives up a league best 14 points per game. Pitt is 2nd at 15.2. The San Fran defense is also number 1 in the league in redzone TD % at 35.7%. Pitt is 25th at 57.7%. The SF offense also scores 23.6 points per game which is better than Pitt's 21.7. However SF offense is 35% in the redzone while Pitt is 52%.
Amazingly SF has not allowed a rushing TD the entire year and a league best only 70 rushing yards per game. I think Harbaugh learned alot in the AZ game. He had Smith throw the ball 37 times even though Gore averaged 7.2 yards per carry. He only gave him 10 carries. Sf has been accused of being in a weak division which is ridiculous. They still play NFL teams with NFL players. This is not the MAC. Interestingly, they have beaten Philly at full strength and a Detroit team that was 5-0 as well as some other quality wins. Pittsburgh on the road got crushed by Balt, beat Indy by 3, got beat at Houston, and barely beat KC. The strength schedule is really no factor here. Tonight will be one of the biggest games for SF in the last decade. The energy by the crowd in the National spotlight will be electric. I think SF get's back to basics tonight and runs it right down the throat of that Pitt defense. Roethlisberger is clearly hobbled and if he does play, he won't be able to buy time in the pocket and extend plays as usual. This will be a hard hitting defensive battle as SF proves they are a team to be reckoned with in the NFL.

#101914-3 & almost 20 units in 2 days more than made up for that little slump last week that I was frustrated about. It was one of the easier games to cap this week in my opinion. I didn't even mention the fact that John Harbaugh gave his brother JIm every single shred of knowledge he had to beat the Steelers. The bet was clearly SF or nothing. Anyone who bet Pittsburgh in that situation either never did their homework or bet with their heart. Glad you made some cash. There's a bowl game tomorrow!

#1020you were due- i appreciate your hard work capping. Seems like it definitely has been a tough year in football in general? I was down earlier this season betting on "sharp" picks in CFB/NFL.Comment -

#1033Season update through Tuesday Dec 20, 2012:
NCAAF 157-145 for +14.4 units
NFL 147-125 for +22.1 units
total is 304-270 (w/14 pushes)for +36.5 units
separately NCAAF Bowl Games are 7-3 for 3.4 units
I went on a bad run a week ago going 14-23 but then made up for it the past 3 days going 16-3. I stumbled a little coming out of the blocks in the bowls going 2-3 and dropping over 3.5 units but have since righted the ship going 5-0 and winning close to 7 units so hopefully the streak continues. My goal for the bowls is to win a minimum +15 units but would love +20. Altogether NCAAF needs to finish over +30 units. As far as NFL, it would be tough to repeat last years playoff run and go 9-1 and cash the Superbowl too, but I would be happy finishing up over +30 total units there. Finishing up football season up a grand total of over +60 units is very possible. +50 units is well within reach and I would take that every year. Every year is different. Last year I was on fire through 3/4 of the year and then went cold and didn't get hot again until in the NFL playoffs. This year though seems to have been a harder grind with so many public faves covering big spreads all year long. The top 4 teams alone (Bama, LSU, OK St, and Stanford) were a combined 37-12 ATS. I doubt that happens next year as books will adjust and we will be ready. GL on the rest of your wagers this year.Comment -

#1037POINSETTIA BOWL
LA Tech +10-115 2 units
under 57 1 unit
We all know TCU went to Boise and won, but La Tech is legit & can play too. They lost by 2 at S. Miss, to Hou by 1, and went into SEC country and easily defeated Ole Miss and lost to Ms St in overtime. Their other loss was to Hawaii. They finished the season winning 7 straight. LA Tech head coach, Sonny Dykes, just announced he signed a contract extension and isn't going anywhere. TCU has gone to back to back BCS Bowls. The latest was the Rose Bowl where they hung on to beat Wisconsin. How motivated will this team be after they won their conference and get to play in the Poinsetta Bowl against La Tech. I think the motivational factors are well in favor of La Tech here and they match up well in personnel. La Tech will actually have the better defensive front in this game. Their D-line features SEC type athletes with their two ends and 340 lb nose guard. Of course we know TCU is no slouch on defense either. Neither team should have much success running the ball. The thing that keeps me from going heavier on the under is that I think both teams will end up with some big plays in the passing game. I also think with the athletes these teams have on special teams and defense there is potential for defensive turnover scores and blocked kicks. Also, the last 50 DD dogs in bowls are 29-20-1 ATS. Dykes as a head coach is 0-0 in bowls but TCU's Gary Paterson is 4-5 ATS and 3-4 ATS as a favorite in bowls so he is not setting the world on fire. There is clear potential for an outright La Tech win. For those of you that want to throw a few bucks down on La Tech ML feel free as dogs in bowls win outright more often than they do in the regular season. I'll take the 10 points here and ride it.
