Very frustrating 1H. Iowa gave them points and pissed away points themselves. Vandenburg couldn't hit the broad side of a barn half the time and the other half McNutt looks like he has no idea how to run a route. And then, after they overcome all of that, they can't line up correctly. Funny thing is, Iowa's still in this game. First drive is critical, though.

did you see the first half stats I posted? It looks like Iowa should be up 14-0. If I hadn't been so bad the last few days, I would be pounding Iowa 2nd half.

His QB was hurt and the games was over. Add that bad beat to the list.

He had a bad day. Plays getting in late were routine. I'm stunned by this one. So much about the end was completely unnecessary. Oh what I wouldn't have given for that 1Q FG...
I'm not going to say we had the right side (cuz it lost), but damn, up until the last 40 seconds, the game I saw was what I expected.

I'm going to try and grind out of this. Northwestern +10 -115 2 units
Northwestern nearly pulled off outright wins as big dogs against Texas Tech and Auburn in their last two bowl games. NW head coach Pat Fitzgerald is 3-0 ATS in bowls. This year they are facing a texas AM team that is in complete transition. They are changing conferences and coaching staffs. Their defensive coordinator, Tim DeRuyter, who is the interim HC for this game has taken the job at Fresno State. A&M hasn't been able to finish all year long. They couldn't close against Missouri, Texas, or Kansas State. Add to the list of distractions, the death of offensive lineman Joey Villavisencio, a senior who died in a Dec.22 car wreck. This was originally a 3 unit play but I'm losing my ass right now so you may want to take the opposite.

no, they use another kid in the wildcat sometimes. I expected A&M to come out fast playing for the death of the teammate but they usually tank as the game goes on so we are in decent shape I think. The last drive looked like they lack focus, 3 dropped passes.

Thank you seer- tex am seems like they definitely have played only half the game all year- they come out firing then fade- or struggle first half then rally second half- hopefully we keep it close!

I've never been this cold so I'm not sure how to get out of this but you would be making a killing by fading.
I didn't realize the start but I have Utah +1.5 3 units

I read someone yesterday said that when the get into a streak like this they bet both sides of a game just to get a win and break the seal...Seems pretty extreme to me. After yesterday, I went with the "day off" approach....
Good luck today.

Just a bad run, Seer, you'll come out of it. Your logic is sound.
I'm on the Utes as well, and the under 49. Let's get it!

reasons for Utah:
Tech has struggled against power rushing attacks like Utah’s.
We know about GT's rushing offense but Utah is seventh in rush defense (97 yards per game) and has allowed just six rushing touchdowns all season.
While the Yellow Jackets' triple-option offense has been known to give opponents fits because they rarely see it, the Utes faced the scheme for years while playing Air Force in the Mountain West. Utah has also seen Tech coach Paul Johnson's version of the offense after facing his former team, Navy, in the 2007 Poinsettia Bowl.
They suspended a starting tackle right before the game:
Coach Paul Johnson on the suspension of starting OT Phil Smith, who was sent home for an undisclosed violation of team rules. "It was disappointing more than anything else, (given) the nature of what happened and how it happened. We’ll address it later on.”
Two starters, OT Phil Smith and CB Louis Young, are not in El Paso because they violated team rules. Smith’s absence could be more significant. OTs Tyler Kidney and Ray Beno likely won’t get any rest against what coach Paul Johnson called as good a D-line as Tech has faced.
All-ACC G Omoregie Uzzi and B-back David Sims are questionable for Saturday's Sun Bowl with undisclosed injuries that have limited them in practice. If Uzzi can't play, freshman Shaquille Mason would replace him. If Sims can't play, Preston Lyons would get the start.
Tech QB Tevin Washington completed 38.7% of his throws over the last eight games, with two TDs and seven INTs.
Assistant coach Brian Bohannon on Utah’s Star Lotelelei, considered the top NT in the Pac-12: “He’s a difference-maker. I don’t think you’re going to stop him, but we want to control him the best we can.” Lotelelei is tied for the team lead in TFLs (9) despite getting double-teamed on most plays.
DC Al Groh on Utah RB John White (5-8, 186), who ranks 11th nationally with 117 yards per game: “He’s a very slithery guy, quick with his cuts, hard to get a direct hit on him. … He gets a lot of yards after contact because the contact is very glancing.”
The Utes will play Saturday's Sun Bowl without starting DT Dave Kruger, a junior who played in all 12 games but has developed a leg infection.
“To be real honest, we’ve struggled with power running teams all year,” coach Paul Johnson said.
Utes are 9-1 in last 10 bowls.
Utah allowed a Pac-12-low 19.7 points per game (18th nationally)
The Jackets have lost six straight bowls.
Kyle Whittingham 6-1 in bowls.
Paul Johnson 2-5 in bowls.
