A tunnel is more feasible than a bridge because it doesn't have to be designed for weather elements like wind, ice, snow etc.

It's not crazy. The biggest problem will be ventilation. It would probably have to be designed for only electric or magnetic levitation trains so they won't have any emissions. And no cars.
