Idc about money. I don't get emotional over it like most people do. I've lived a modest life and can live quite comfortably on what is currently the equivalent of federal minimum wage. I can watch a football game without having action on it easily and have just as much fun as if i had $2K on it. Most things i enjoy in life are free like outdoor activities, studying or watching my favorite team on tv.

Remember, if you allow that money to work for you, you'll be in a position where you never have to get up early, take shit from a boss and do the 9 to 5 thing.

But if you do this for an adventure, you will lose either way. If you lose the bet, you're a jackass with no respect for money and whatever you think you may have learned will pale in comparison to what that money could have done for you years from now. If you win, you will want to recapture the moment and you will do it again until you lose.

This adventure will not fill the void, it will only widen the chasm.
Yes, i understand that compound interest is a mfer of a useful tool to a young person. I've been studying investing since i was 15. Nobody should have respect for money since it is fake. It's a piece of paper that only holds value because people allow it too. There is an indefinite supply so what value does it really hold? The fractional reserve banking system running the world with it's fiat currencies is a joke. It's one and done, i wouldn't want to do it again if i won. Just want the experience once.

I'm all for selling everything you own and gaining experiences but I think this may be something you regret sooner than later. You obviously ran into a split group here - 50% level headed don't want to see you lose everything/ 50% let it ride, it ain't my money and misery loves company. I hope whether or not you decide to do this is a decision you come to on your own not based on the irrational opinions of a few here.

Also, don't give 00 roulette a bad name. One could do a lot worst than -5.6% EV in the casino. Hell the bet you may end up taking will likely be worst than that.

I've been wanting to leave. It's hard to find a place I'm at peace with however. I don't want to go to any country that is pro war, has an unfavorable ruling system, has abundant natural disasters or is active in the drug trade/money laundering. It's hard to find a place that fits that criteria. Places that are similar to America and mostly fit that criteria like Canada or Sweden are hard as hell to immigrate to for an average American. It's a catch-22.

Much respect if you go through with this dude. Gotta love a guy living life and taking a risk!
$3k may be a saner amt. Just think about living on a campground and walking around, scraping by.

That said, I've heard crazier ideas. Would suck, if the game loses. But think about if it wins!!!

If you have a car keep that take all the cash you have and go to a tire shop and throw it all in the spare, keep like a grand for expenses. Then drive south and dont stop till you hit Costa Rica. Lay low and get a room somewhere and just bet 5K a game until you double it or go broke. If you double it look for one of those gated sub developments and buy a house and start over.

If you go broke or get down to your last 1K head home or try and find a job down there so you canstart over.

How bout this idea instead: liquidate everything, put 25k in the bank and get 25k in cash. Buy a 1-way plane ticket to London, should only be about $1k for business class from Vegas. Make the departure date 2 days after u arrive in Vegas. Then you've got 2 days to find the right game. Win or lose, you head to Europe and travel the world for a year and live modestly but comfortably on the $25k. If you win the bet, put the 50k (risked + won) in a safe deposit box in Vegas and prepay 18 months of the box rental. Then return from Europe and you've got 50 k to start a new life, here or elsewhere. if you lose, you just come back and start over from scratch.

Try Denmark, especially Copenhagen. They really have a different set of values there. If you want a smaller town but like the Nordic feel, look into Aarhus Dk. It's smaller, on the coast and a college town.

don't do this. If you lose you will regret it, no matter what you say. If you win you've doubled your net worth, great, but you don't care about money. Why not $25K if your serious. Learn how to play 1/2 and 2/5 NL live and go to Europe and play poker and bang European chicks...

Do you guys have any info on how hard or easy it is to immigrate to Europe? I was shocked at how hard it is just to immigrate to Canada. Europe is great and all but I'm guessing that it's not that easy to just move there and be granted access to live and work etc. especially considering it's hard to move to a "neighbouring" country. I know a guy that is marrying a French gal and they want to stay in France as opposed to the USA and he's having all kinds of problems trying to get set up there long term. It's like nobody else in the developed world wants Americans or something but pretty much anybody can come to America. I don't get it.
