Japanese markets taking a pounding overnight. Not getting any better anytime soon.... The market jumping 100% from 2008 lows was way too much speculation with very little if any recovery....... Artificial propping up with excessive stimulation and bailout. Commodities will keep climbing, the scary thing is the massive jump that commodites have made they may still be a huge value in comparison to securities and currencies.......

Asian markets usually react to the US so a bad trading day in Asia might not mean a bad day here.

Earnings season is over. This looks likes 2008 all over again. Expect the Dow to drop another couple thousand points in this month and around the end of September it will be a good time to buy stocks again when the mutual fund managers buy stock to make their portfolios look pretty again for the end of quarter.

Not into individual stocks, just 401K. I've read the market goes down 80% of the time during
the last year of a presidency. Looks like it started early. I'm sitting out the rest of this year and next.

The debt ceiling has been raised in the past with no hoopla and no change to the markets.
When those morons in office decided to play kinder garden, look what happened, I hope
                  they are proud of themselves.

Selling the news of the debt deal. The selling should be pretty close to done though, at least short term. Starting to look oversold

NY, I wish I knew...... I did call the bottom at 6500 in 2008 in a thread here and everyone though that was way lower than it would hit. There just is not enough money left to be spent to hold the market anywhere near these levels. Credit tight, value of dollar shrinking and I think will end up worth shit soon enough, people paranoid and widespread uncertainty. Politicians have NO plan other than trying to get re-elected. Things could get really bad again. I just don't see any improvement. Job market is and will remain shit pair that with fear and devalued dollar and crushing debt and no new credit I won't even try to guess a number. I do think this will be a slower more extended plummet than 2008 but we are headed low.

Even if the US starts spitting out good economic numbers (like on Friday), European debt woes will still strangle the market further.

Precious metals and food (corn, soy, etc.) are good bets. I pulled the trigger on SGG, the sugar ETF this morning.

float means how much of the stock is being traded in relation to how many shares exist.

High float means a larger market, which means sharper price and increased liquidity. It would allow you to get on and off the stock quicker with a smaller bid ask spread.

Nah bro I bought @ 92 even so I'm happy today so far. Put in a stop around 93.25 to lock in some profit but I think it still has room to go.

Greece has a huge stranglehold on the shipping industry so I wouldn't be too sure about SINO. As we all know, Greece is on life-support so anything related with shipping is a no-no in my mind. Remember that during a typical day, all stocks within an industry will more or less move in the same direction. So if the BDI (Baltic Dry Index) keeps going down, the whole industry worldwide will go down. Also, the amount of freighters vastly outnumbers demand right now so a tiny company has virtually no chance. Once the BDI starts showing some signs of life, stocks like DryShips (DRYS), Diana Shipping (DSX), etc. will see a more dramatic upswing but until then I wouldn't touch.

I know nothing about the nuclear energy sector but good luck on your plays!
