    Simple seafood supper
In a sauce pan, gently begin to fry diced onions, bell peppers, garlic, and maple bacon (chopped into 2" bits). Hit it with thyme, pepper, salt and cumin. When the aforementioned ingredients are almost cooked, add in tiger shrimp and scallops, being sure not to overcook. Toss everything together and hit it with some chopped fresh mint. Serve with risotto and grilled jap eggplants.

Sharky, that's dinner tonight. Just can't wait! I normally add fresh chili into the dish but am out so will be using cumin to add a smoky flavour instead.

Hey Buzzed, can you suggest a wine to go with this. I know you live in the land of the dry reisling but I'mnot sure that is the best type of wine to serve with this dish.

I love pinot noir and am not afraid to have red wine with seafood or poultry. I also like a big fruity Shiraz to complement this dish. If you must have a white, go for pinot grigio if you like a fruity wine. Don't worry about wine snob rules. Pair the food with the wine YOU most enjoy.

FYI, I'm having this with Diet Coke.

I'm not a wine snob but I will save the fruity sweeter wines for the spicy dishes. My wife and I like the dryer wines ourselves, and I'm not sure about the pinot grigio with the fish, although if I was to pick a red, it would be the pinot.

Whatever floats your boat, rage. I enjoy a good wine but am not a snob at all with it, nor with cooking. Combine flavours YOU enjoy and be merry. I have not graduated to dry wines, as you no doubt deduced. In time I suppose....

Later, pal. It's time to start cooking.

I had something similar last night ... just a bit of clams, octopus and pieces of fish ...
