If the NBA lockout goes on for an elongated period of time, you know there will be some teams sweating, in hope that one of their doesn't get injured overseas.

Besiktas has some interesting problems on the football side of the house..match fixing....would be interesting if Kobe would want to play in a league in Turkey...great for fitness, but not much competition. One of Kobe's endorsements is Turkish Airlines, so he does have a business connection to the country.

I think it'd be hilarious if some of these elite players go overseas and play. David Stern has run this league into the ground and it's hard to watch now unless it's playoff time.

jj with all due respect for your fukkin point stealing asss you don't know shlt about basketball
60% of the franchises in the nba are in the tank
no sport has worse contracts than the nba. problem is that it's no one's fault but the management of these teams
gilbert arenas, rayshard lewis, samuel dalembert...all horrible contracts...the list can go on and on....if a guy will NEVER help a team win a title why would you pay him 15-20 mil a year??? happens in a lot of sports but more pronounced in nba because rosters are small...its like owners think if they pay a guy 20 mil he'll play like he's worth 20 mil a year now the players think these guys are actually worth the money they're getting

Kobe has a close business relationship with the Turks. I know the Armenian community in the Los Angeles area is not at all happy with him.

I dont see this happening. Maybe some young up and coming guys like rookies but not the big name guys. It all comes down to how much they can pay him tho.

He should do it. Kobe should, too. Chance to mkt yourself globally, not just in USA. Good (if not great) pay. I actually think the injury risk is lower than USA, just b/c he won't have guys challenging him as often.
Sign a one-yr deal...tell the NBA "Sorry, not this yr." Would be worth it just to see the expression on Stern's face.

too much money, they are just using this as leverage against the owners, no one really wants to play out of the US except deron williams

That's significantly less than what he got from the Lakers.

A little less than half, but still alot considering the softer competition.

Being Turkish I just fell of my chair reading what you wrote. I am "white" green eyed male just like any other European citizen you can think of. Sure not everyone in Turkey is like me but still mongolian/asian is a bit too far. In general I would say we are more like Spanish/Italian in terms of color of skin.
Deron Williams already signed with Beşiktaş and although I'm not a big fan of the club I would love to see him play. But then again knowing they would return as soon as the lock out ends is spoiling it a bit but still it would be fun to see some NBA stars in European Basketball where there is tough defence from minute 1 instead of only last quarter like in NBA.
