#37For any of you guys that may give it a shot today here are a few lower salary guys that could be in good spots:
Nolan Reimold, OF, BAL ($5,836): I think that Andrew Miller is back to earth, and Reimold hits LHP well. I'd like him to be even cheaper but I think he will get some RBI chances hitting 7th. The O/U is also 11 in that game so I wouldn't blame you for loading up on Red Sox and Orioles.
Matt Wieters, C, BAL ($4,715): Did I mention the O/U is 11? I also like Wieters in this spot because the numbers show he's more comfortable versus LHP this year, he's been hitting well of late, and the price is right.
John Danks, SP, CWS ($8,654): He's gotten a few weeks off after leaving his last start and is reasonably priced today on the road against the soft-hitting Royals.
Brett Myers, SP, HOU ($7,658): Look, pitchers don't come without risk at this price, but after his 11 K outing versus the Pirates you have to hope he comes ready to build on that at home against Livan and Nats.
Joey Votto, 1B, CIN ($7,725): This is a nice discount on Votto against a RHP in Karstens who is pitching way over his head. Votto has also owned him in a limited sample historically: 6/9, 3 2B, 4 BB. The Reds haven't scored in two games and while that doesn't mean they'll score today by any means, I think they'll come to the park focused today.
All Cubs/Phillies: Wind blowing out at 13 MPH today with Worley and Dempster on the mound. O/U set at 11.5. I'd find room for Aramis (3B), Pena (1B), Castro (SS), Utley (2B), Howard (1B) if I could.
I hope some of these guys lead you to your first Draftstreet W.Comment -

#42Bcats sorry for the delayed response on this but we also have a private leagues option where we could easily do something like this, anywhere from 2-20 players and anywhere from $5 to $215 entry.
First toggle the radio button at the top of the draft lobby to "Private Leagues", then click on "Create a Private League". That'll bring you to the next screen where you have to pick the terms of the league and then you'll have the opportunity to invite players by their DS Screenname, so everyone has to sign up for an account first but it's very doable. It would be great to put together a tournament of SBR Forum messageboard champions alongside the freeroll.Comment -

#46Rudy, I'm not sure which sites have advertised on SBR before, but I'd encourage you to give us a shot during the freeroll and see if you like the feel of the site, the game structures, the pricing, etc. We are confident we are the best in those categories you named (customer service, payouts) and would be happy to just tell you we are, but it would make a lot more sense to show you.Comment -

#47tt - the $250 freeroll will take place next Friday, July 29. We will allow players to start picking their teams on Tuesday, July 26 for the one-day freeroll on Friday. Our pricing model is fluid so we want the least amount of time as reasonably possible between the creation of the game (which locks the prices) and the day the freeroll is played.Comment -

#48The UIGEA (the same law that banned online poker) had a specific carveout for fantasy sports as a skill game, and thus legal in the United States. We feel that online poker will soon be legalized and regulated in the US, and aren't particularly concerned they would then reverse their decision on fantasy sports if they are headed that direction with poker. While it could be argued that Congress did not envision daily fantasy sports when issuing the law, it is absolutely legal now and not at risk of being surprised with legislation that would jeopardize any players' funds. Draftstreet is based in the US and backed by US banks.
Withdrawals can be done via check or Paypal. For a standard check we ask for 10 business days but you will usually see that it arrives sooner. Paypal or an expedited check will be 3-5 business days but the relevant fees will be deducted. Again, we try to and generally do process these faster than those guidelines.
As for juice, or rake, or what we call entry fees, it can go down to 7.5% at the highest level games ($215 games - $200 to prize pool, $15 entry fee). But on an $11 game the entry fee is $1, so 10%. As we get a higher volume of players we will look to reduce this percentage down the road once it makes business sense to do so.
We're really looking forward to next week's freeroll but anyone looking to get a leg up can check it out whenever they'd like. Questions, feedback, etc. always welcome.
sports betting is also a skill game and shouldn't have been banned.Comment -

#56Draftstreet - Please change your performance feature. I thought that was a pretty cool feature that I didn't have on my other fantasy site until I saw the results. Why are you including the entry fee in the earnings?
<table id="tbl-league-results-1" class="my-perf-results-tbl"><tbody><tr><td>Leagues Entered:</td><td id="my-perf-leagues-entered">1</td></tr> <tr class="alt"><td>Leagues Won:</td><td id="my-perf-leagues-won">1 (100%)</td></tr> <tr><td>Leagues Cashed:</td><td id="my-perf-leagues-cashed">1 (100%)</td></tr> <tr class="alt"><td>Avg Entry-Fee:</td><td id="my-perf-avg-entry-fee">$109</td></tr> <tr><td>Avg Players:</td><td id="my-perf-avg-players">2</td></tr> <tr class="alt"><td>Gross Earnings:</td><td id="my-perf-gross-earnings">$200</td></tr></tbody></table>
I didn't earn $200 when $109 was my buy in to begin with. It would be a whole lot better if my earnings were listed at $91, the number I actually earned.Comment -

#57Hi Bob,
It sounds like what you're saying would apply if it were 'Net Winnings', 'Net', or 'Net Earnings'.
I think Gross Earnings is probably coded to include the total amount that gets credited to you after winning a match, inclusive of the buy-in. I do agree with you though.Comment -

#58Bob - we will look into that for sure.
In the meantime, and I realize it is an extra step, but you can get your net profits this way:
Net Profits = Gross Winnings - (Leagues Entered X Avg Entry-Fee)Comment -

#59From my understanding the reason Fantasy Sports Gambling is aloud is not because it is classified as a skill game... Then online casinos and Pokerrooms would all be legal in the united states... It rather has to do with the classification of Fantasy Sports... WHen I Spoke to a few different lawyers, for now fantasy sports falls into recreation entertainment field, instead of gambling... This of course could be amended at anytime but for now it is 100% legal to US players and US fantasy sports operations.Comment -

#70While waiting for next week's freeroll we have a few large pool tournaments tonight. 5 spots remain in our $109 GPP (Guaranteed Prize Pool) which pays out $1600 to first place.
I don't think you can go wrong with the middle of the Braves order against Arroyo tonight, all lefties: Heyward, McCann, Freeman, Hinske...
Good luck!Comment
