ARLINGTON, Texas - A fan died after taking a head-first fall out of the outfield stands during Thursday night’s game between the Rangers and the Athletics. The accident happened during the second inning as Josh Hamilton picked up a foul ball and tossed it into the stands for a lucky fan. But that fan wasn’t so lucky. He reached too far over the railing and fell about 20 feet to the ground behind the left field scoreboard. Witnesses said he hit a metal crossbeam on the way down.
“It looked like he had just a little too much momentum and went over the side and went head first. I thought he had broke his neck the way he went down head first, but when I saw him moving his legs and his arms it was kind of a relief, you know, especially with his son right there looking over asking if his dad was okay,” said Ryan Martin, a fan who was sitting nearby.
However, officials said the man died on the way to the hospital.

Your son is scarred for life because you went after a fukking baseball. I know it's a freak accident and the Rangers have some ridiculously low railings IMO - but you gotta be smart here and realize it's a freaking foul ball. It's just a BALL and not worth you life. Sad that this kind of stuff happens too often.
