why is cliff lee a underdog today?
+104 looks tasty but i want to know why the oddsmakers are giving value to a 9-1 pitcher vs a pitcher (dontrelle willis) that was had serious control problems. yes the indians havent been hitting and obv the tigers are good offensively but can someone give me a logical reason?

I'd like to hear the reasoning on this as well. Tigers can hit him though.

this is the only thing on the card i remotely like a tiny bit but idk looks like a no play to me for me because indians are not hitting and tigers may about to go on a huge winning streak.dontrelle has looked bad so far tho

Well I guess it won't matter how bad he pitches if the run support is there, though it's hard to imagine Cliff Lee getting bombed. Perhaps the bullpen factors in?

Cleveland is 29th in league in bullpen ERA.

Lee hasn't pitched well lately, even though he continues to win. ERA above 6.00 over last three games.

            ^ Thats it,

Lee has come back down to earth (unfortunately for my fantasy team) and D Willis looked good in his last tune-up. Not disagreeing that the Indians are worth playing here, but thats the reason.

Yep, Cliff Lee is back to his old self. Last 4 starts has allowed a ton of baserunners. Detroit kills lefties, and Cleveland has a horrible bullpen (Okay I'm not adding much to the thread here, this has all been covered). betjamaica had Det -102 earlier, I hesitated deciding how much to bet and missed it. Got it at -105 though which I still think is a steal. Dontrelle is not a good pitcher anymore though so it is not a lock. Couldn't throw a strike in his last start.

Yeah, probably little value either way.

Lee has a lifetime 3-6 record with an ERA of 5.23 v Detroit. I wonder if they took that into consideration.
