#249why cant we do top 36 players, regardless of country? why does someone who hasnt won one tourney get all these points when players who have won 2 tourneys cant even crack team usa? ryder cup cool format and idea, giving out a sh1tload of points, are great but not exactly fair for guys who have more points than someone else(that is in). or what about team usa having 2 teams?Comment -

Thats why it is called the Ryder cup, in golf when they play,
the USA posts 1 Team with so many Players that qualified
during the year and the rest of the World posts 1 Team with
the same amount of Players that qualified to represent them
and they go head on and get WINS/LOSSES credited
Thats the way it is, no more players or less Players same amountComment -

#251i understand that but this isnt exactly the same thing. if it were for pride, im all for it. but its not, its for a lot of points. when they involve the amount of points given out, it becomes business, and a fair business practice would be to include the highest rated players. just saying. ill just have to win another one but its just not logical to have someone with 1500 points not make it and a player with 400 points to make it, just because of where they live.Comment -

#252but the guy with 400 Points playes for a different Team, maybe the
World Team which has fewer Poker players on SBR and most likely
not as good seasoned Players as the USA, which has a lot larger Poker
Pool to chose from, which would indicate, chances are a higher level
of play, them are the rules that are setComment -

#254We need two teams for USA. I have 1300 points and would be top 3 on every other team except for USA. This isint exactly the fairest system. I have a couple of 4ths as well wish that was worth something lol.Comment -

I hope you realize that the USA Team is already a big favorite
because of their good Players, by increasing the number of more
good Playersis not the best Idea, it would only decrease the Odds
of all the other Teams and would give the other Teams a mountain
to climb with a slim chance of winning the so called POKER RYDER CUPComment -

#256A suggestion could be, that the USA hold their own Pre Ryder Cup Tourney
that would decide the top 8 finshers to represent TEAM USA in the Ryder CupComment -

#260Obviously there are more US players with a lot of points since this is a US site, and people from all over the world don't know that much about it. It's not like the US players are that much better than the ones from anywhere else lol, they just make up a huge percentage of the player pool.Comment -

my thing is, if there is say only 1 player from europe. if this player has not won a poker tourney and others have, how does he get to compete for points and the guys who have won, do not get to compete for the points.
if there are just 5 players from canada, these 5 players have the same chance to win a tourney as I do. If i have won 2 and they have won 0, its not cool that they get more points than me.Comment -

sbr is promoting and will promote this as a ryder cup type competition, but for the players, it's more of an individual thing. poker's not a team sport, and the people saying that 'if player a from _______ has more qualifying points that player b from ________, why does player b get the bid' are correct.
i've won two and have a 2nd place, it's a tad annoying to think that someone with way worse results will get to compete for all the point prizes over me because they're from iceland or wherever.Comment -

#264At the very least, the last wild card spot on the team should be decided by a mini-tournament instead of being placed on the team just because of the number of posts they have. The tourney would include any USA player within 1 win, 500 points or less, of making the team. That way at least players on the bubble would get a shot instead of some random poster that maybe only played a handful of tourneys. Kinda like what the NCAA did with Final 4 this year (UTSA and VCU). That mini-tourney would probably be pretty entertaining in and of itself.Comment -

#265its just that the 4th place team splits 9000 points.
currently on team world, a guy with 350 points so far, will take a chunk of this, when guys on team usa with 1000 points or more will not even have a chance at these points.
this will be my last rant, good luck guys.Comment -

I think that some of you guys missing the whole Point of the
SBR RYDER CUP, it means a competion between different Countries
and regions of the World, if it was just the best qualification Winners
with the most Points, it would be just another Tourneyment of the best
Indivitual Poker Players from SBR
The Ryder Cup will determine who will have the bragging rights to be the
best in the World in playing Poker ( WORLD CHAMPIONS ) so to speakComment -

#269Basically no one really gives a damn who win except for the 36 who are playing. AND MOST LIKELY at least 3 to 7 of those 36 posters dont give a damn either. Some of them wont even know that were chosen. I mean they may never have even checked this thread.
So that will help the US team tremendously. The US team has virtually no chance at finishing lower than 2nd. I mean the World team wont even have but 5 players who are going to play and the Europe team will be the sameComment -

#270And I hope that SBR will have some other tournaments in July for everyone else. Othewise, no reason to even log into the poker site for the month of July.
I mean 100,000 points for only 36 posters?? And at least 5 of those posters wont even know that they are playing in the Ryder Cup. They will just all of a sudden have 1000 points in their accountComment -

You can't do me like this Lou, I thought we were buds. I've pissed away more money than 99% of the people on this site to your sponsors. Once I pay off my loan, I'm done with this shit. They don't give a fck about loyal posters.Comment -

#277A US Team split into an North/South type of teams would even out the strength of the US team, as well as get some of the other top players in from the US (since it is a U.S. heavy site.) It would also keep the regions part of competion in order and maintain a Ryder cup feel of competition. With so many points up for grabs its just not fair for any US players with 1000 points and more not to be eligibile to earn any points at all.Comment -

How is goldstein not on the leaderboard when he has won AT LEAST 3 tournaments since we started keeping track and not telling how many 2nds and thirds that he hasComment -
