I agree the US team will be very tough to make. Maybe next year or whenever something similar is done they can have two US teams divided somehow. 8 fuk'in players only for each team, with an alternate? So 36 players get to split 97,000 pts. out of all the poker players on here? This is royal flush ass fuk'in if I ever seen one! You could easily have 20 to 25 player per team, by adjusting team and singles players elimination formats eventually getting down to the final 8 from each country.
Only drawback to lottery is how many folks names would get drawn that do not even play SBR poker. Just pros that are primarily in players talk or such. Plus if drawing, what if two or three guys get drawn that acutally play and the rest of teams are randoms who could care less (does not really create fair teams)
Also, my guess is SBR is wanting to draw/reward players that consistently play on their poker software.
9 players per team is what it is. Do I wish there was more. Of course since I think my current score will not be enough to hold me a spot. But If they made it 20 players, people that did not make it would be saying 30 players and so on.
This is a learning experience for players and SBR. Things will be learned, adjustments made for the future. I for one appreciate the chance and have fun trying.
