SBR WSOP Qualifiers list, win a $10k Main Event seat!!

If they run 6 man tables, at least for the first hour or even the whole thing, with the same structure it would probably be OK or perhaps add 2 minutes to the blind levels for this big tourney.

Please make the structure as "slow" as possible. If you use the normal SBR structure (which qualifies as a turbo basically), it will be almost pure luck after the first hour and done by 2-2.5 hours, which means the top 200-300 will be determined solely by who wins coin flips.

With a more normal big tournament blind structure (20 min levels, smaller increments), this should last about 6 hours. If people don't want a real tournament, they shouldn't enter. Just to make the money in WSOP, you have to play 20+ hours of poker. To win, its more like 50 hours. Does SBR really want someone who is unwilling to play 6 hours representing them in a 20+ hour long event?

The chances of someone winning this Tourney to get a seat and represent SBR
in the WSOP are so slim, if you believe that he can beat 500 + Players, and some realy
good ones to boot, by being just shit lucky, you are reaching. In all my years of playing
I have never seen a Player being that LUCKY, so he or she must have played with a lot
of skill and some luck along the way to get to that Point, playing with just pure LUCK
only last for a while and than fades. I am not to worried, I am convinced that one of the
top or better Players will thte Seat to go and represent SBR in Vegas

Your missing the point.
It's very simple. The faster the structure the better the chances are for the non skilled luck player.

Watching one of the tournaments last night... 10 people at the final table and every player had less than 10 big blinds... Basicly every player has one move... All in.

Again, i have no problem playing turbo's and adjusting to that style of play. Turbo's or fast structures just equal a very high variance.

From a business standpoint i would think that SBR would want a more skilled player representing them in the main event. With a longer blind structure and bigger starting stacks the chances of that happening are much better.

Of course nothing is guaranteed... Chris Moneymaker, Jamie Gold, ect...

Maybe just only for the qualifiers to the main tournament is 7 min blinds. Maybe the final tourney for the seat will have the 15 min blinds

i qualified today by default...got 5th in the June 1st tourney at 5pm pacific..the top 4 have already qualified so that puts me in...damn i've been trying everyday ...and finally w/no help from me i'm in...was all against those rules when they first came out now i'm all for them...

First of all yes this will be a long tournament if you are in it until the end. We will not rush the blinds. We think it will be in the 5 hour range. Of course the winner gets a magic ticket and could win millions besides his free trip to Vegas. Whoever wins this will certainly be a battle tested poker warrior. Would love to see him win a few million.

The SBR Ryder Cup will be played the first week of July. Lou will post the current standings today. The current standings will be like this;

Jack is totally correct on this one, SBR should make the blind levels at a minimum of 10 minutes and even that is considered a turbo in some venues. If someone cant spend a few hours for a chance to win a prize that is in the 10 to 15 thousand range, then thats pretty sad, and they'll be no such instant gratification in the WSOP....

think that would be the best case scenario of all that were mentioned

no , but someone who hadn't yet qualified finished 41st today to qualify. And a game yesterday with 33 entries had only 2 new qualifiers because all the others in the game had already done so.
