What's with all these QBs going so high?
Waaay too many high picks being used on QBs on this draft. I feel like every QB taken in this draft besides Mallett (Pats, 3rd) and Stanzi (still available) were reached for. Of the 4 1st rounders (!) and 2 2nd rounders, I wouldn't be surprised to only see one or two succeed as starters.

A lot of teams need a QB, and the moratorium on trades is totally fukking everything up. You'd think a lot of these owners would be more aware that they're screwing their teams with this lockout.

Every wants the next Big Ben/Joe Flacco/Mark Sanchez instant hit, but it's not exactly a high percentage move throwing a rookie out there.
Walter forgot... when you're desperate's when you got no choice.

I think the KC Chiefs just got a steal with Stanzi in the 5th round

I don't think Gabbert went too early, I think he was right about where he deserved. Newton is a top 10 talent, but everything set up perfectly for Carolina to take him #1, so I guess they had to. Locker and Ponder went WAY TOO EARLY. Locker is a Top 25 talent in the draft and Ponder isn't a first rounder in my opinion.

I can see Gabbert and Locker having a lot of success in the NFL, especially going to decent teams like Jax and Tenn. Locker will be able to develop and will have a good defense playing for him, so he won't be pressured to put up 30 points a game. Gabbert will have Garrard ahead of him and will be able to mature. Hopefully, for the sake of Jags fans, Del Rio is gone soon. That might hinder the growth of Gabbert if Del Rio sticks around, they need someone that develops QBs
