finally somebody else is joining the club...to be perfect for a good 4 hours through fatigue with probably a crazy pitch count...at least a back to back no no has a chance of resting in between games...

I agree. perfect thru 12 is the more impressive feat.

the difference between a perfect game and a no hitter is significant.

back to back...if a team is awful and cant get on base through 9, they cant score in 12 anyways. Not allowing a hit on different nights is quite a feat.

I gotta say back to back no-no's. With the 12 innings, you're still in the zone. Hard to stay in the zone after a break.

By my back of the envelope calculations 12 perfect innings will occur about 418 times in a billion chances. Back to back no hitters will occur 65 times in a billion chances. The perfect innings math is a bit cleaner since no hitters can involves "errors" that would otherwise be scored as hits, as well as random double plays that occur more often due to the pitcher being unwilling to give in and put more guys on base via walks. However, no matter how I look at it back to back no hitters is simply less likely. I might add that there are fewer opportunities since only a starter can throw a no hitter whereas any pitcher can retire 36 straight batters.
