The % profit cell then corresponds to the vig.Comment -

#38Oh yeah my bad "Taco" I jumped a little quick on that...Originally posted by Ganchrow-142 is not the juice, it's the price or simply the odds.
See http://forum.sbrforum.com/players-ta...ical-hold.html.
I see what he was thinking... He thinks or thought the below... or I am assuming he did...
Cavs. +385 -110
Celtics -415 -110
This of course is not the case... There is no -110 or Vig. other then as LT said what's built into the ML "GAP" itself...

#39OK, so I see hold pct. is 2.0452% (1/(415/515+100/465))
Now how did you quickly go from that to +/-374.9?Comment -

#40415 515 /( 415 515 + 100 465 ) gives you an implied probability of about 78.93% on the fave, corresponding to decimal odds of about .Originally posted by LT ProfitsOK, so I see hold pct. is 2.0452% (1/(415/515+100/465))
Now how did you quickly go from that to +/-374.9?

#42It doesn't "prove" anything.Originally posted by BrUno0i've tried reading that about twice, and i still just can't seem to absorb it, btw ganch, that % profit, what exactly is that proving, that the book's vig is 2% incorporated into the moneyline?
It just tells you how much the book expect to make on every dollar bet on the game in question (roughly 2.05%).Comment -

#44Ok I got it Ganch, although I get +/-374.7....LOL
First off, 415/515 = .8058 and 100/465 = .2151, which adds to 1.0209
SO....
Fave % = .8058/1.0209 = 78.93%
Dog % = .2151/1.0209 = 21.07%
No Vig Line = .7893/.2107 = 3.7471, or +/=374.71Comment -

#45Bruno,
All you need to know is that book line is what it is.
Thus, Celts -415 means you risk 415 to win 100, Cavs +365 means risk 100 to win 365. There is no extra juice on top of that.Comment -
