    Types of Bettors
    Hey guys
We're making betting definition videos and one of the videos in the series will try to define different types of bettors. Here's a list that I found in the Pinnacle Sportsbook Glossary:

    · Handicapper – Someone that studies and wagers on sporting events.
    · Wise guy / Sharp- a well informed handicapper of bettor or professional gambler
    · Square – The opposite to a sharp - someone that bets casually and is not a professional or full-time gambler.
    · Shortstop – someone that bets small amounts and doesn’t bet often.
    · Flea – a low-wagering bettor that continually requests bonuses.
    · Chalk Player – A bettor that wagers on favorites and rarely bets on underdogs.
    · Dog Player – A bettor that chooses to wager on the Dog or outsider.
    · Scalper - Someone who attempts to profit from the differences in odds from different books by betting both sides of the same game at different prices.
    · Scouts – Refers to a bettor that waits for what he considers to be an unusually strong wager. Basically, he is keeping an eye on the market movement and betting activity before choosing his bet.
    · Beard/ Runner – a friend or acquaintance that places bets in order to hide the true identity of the true bettor. A betting red herring so-to-speak.
    · Bridge Jumper - A bettor that specializes in large show bets on odds-on favorites.

Are there any that I am forgetting, should take out, or simply change the defintion?

    Cheers in advance

I wonder if there is a term for someone that bets things not in the mainstream. I would consider someone that wagers on golf, tennis, soccer, college hockey, props, team totals, etc. in this category. I'm one of these people that tries to find value in less wagered on things.

People are going to say that soccer is in the mainstream...but not in this country.

From this list, I'd consider myself a 'Sharp'

      I'm a square.

I bet about 6 nights a week...Obviously prefer for the bets to win, but if they lose, I don't kill myself. But nowhere close to a full time gambler and don't want to be. I like my day job, and it brings in enough money.

I do think you missed an important one. JJGold should have his own category in types of bettors.
JJGold- Big timing, goggle-wearing, video making, sbr posting, no hair having, mink coat wearing, new rug displaying wild man with a circus-like attitude that attracts thousands of various wagering folks together in the bettor's dreamworld sbrforum.com
Oh and he gets all the chicks he wants, plus he is rod's father, although neither of them know about it.
