First of all no chance the points program hits the shelf. Secondly, if we did end the program we would redeem all the outstanding points first of course.

#562and i have gone on record to state that i'm okay if that happens, there is obv a difference of emphasis we put on MY pts. (ie: you care about them much more than i do, i don't lose sleep over them)
I think your life would be a lot easier if you stopped stressing out so much over my pts as well. happy holidays.

#563We also offer anyone who has a fraud abuse case, including grumperz, to have any respected poster to hear and decide the case. He wasn't interested. Most of these garden variety fraud cases are very simple. The problem is they tax the staff with investigations and numerous communications to the scammer. Hopefully we can reduce staff time through better policies.Comment -

#567hey john, have you scrutinized the case of poster "ace-king", he adds nothing of value to the forum. his last 10 posts have been spent trolling me. the guy has spent 4k sbr pts on personal merchandise such as mousepads, clothes, and a camera. the man begs for loans to purchase these items and is obv just freerolling the system.

#569As far as the question on loans; From day 1 we have made it clear that being a lender here carries unusual business risks. Some of the characteristics of that risk is the site will not help you collect loans. We have better things to do than to be bill collectors in black market lending. If we were going to do that we would simply become the lender. Anyway' use interest rates high enough to overcome all the risks associated with this type of lending.Comment -

#570I can't find an instance of a poster in this thread asking SBR to involve itself in the collection of loans. Nowhere do I see that. What I do see are repeated requests, almost exclusively by pros, that a mechanism be put in place where scammers, cheats, and thieves can have point privileges revoked. No one of whom I'm aware is asking you to be a bill collector. We are asking that you help police your own forum.
Kilin,
And who do you propose would sit as judge and jury in these loan dispute cases? The answer is the only one with the power to ban; The SBR staff. No, we don't want that role. If we were to assume that role we would simply become the lender.
Its not the answer you and the rest of the lenders want to hear I know. It's no fun to be stiffed and not get help but we do not want to be involved in policing loan disputes, slow pays and all the excuses that go with them.Comment -

#572kiln has some good points.
Simple measures:
1. Require posters to have a minimum number of posts before they are allowed to use the casino or sportsbook. This helps identify potential ghosts who create accounts for point funneling. Also makes their point history public domain.
2. The rake fee needs to be abandoned. A strict policy of no forum booking needs to be enforced. 1st offense 100 point penalty. 2nd offense 500 pt penalty. 3rd offense bye bye. This puts the burden of booking on bookies and doesn't penalize all the other posters with rake fees.
3. Minimize point transfers for non-pros to 2 pts a day is good. But if a non-pro was to donate a large amount of points for charity he can do so by transferring the points first to a mod and then the points are distributed accordingly. This should be the exception and can only be used occasionally.Comment -

LOL, so taking advantage of a bad number by arbing it out makes you a good guy, but taking advantage of a bad policy (allowing any 2 lines to be parlayed) makes Trix a cheater. Got it.

#584Ban those that are shady on here. I say strip their points and donate them to the Salvation Army or St. Jude's Hospital charity things in the sbr store. Ban their ip address too. The only thing that sucks is that these "scammers" are usually kinda tech savvy and will find a way to sign up again with a different ip and info. I'm even for doing it the Constitutional way since this is America after all. If someone is suspected of stiffing people on loans or corrupt point transfers to "ghost" accounts then pull up the evidence and have a trial vote of 12 randomly picked sbr members based on sign up date. Once convicted give them the permanent boot and ban. What do you think? Seems like a win win for all. The forum gets cleaned up, the charities get some needed donations and ba da bing ba da boom. We could have a trial date once or twice a month and if you get chosen for jury duty you get some sbr points as a reward for deliberating and voting. It doesn't have to take long, just present the evidence, vote, if convicted the person on trial can gtfo forever. That's what i call justice. It's either that or give someone tyrannical rule to police the forum at will or let the status quo continue and thus the criminal activity. That's all I've got. Peace.Comment -

#588No i already called them once before, well actually the DEA on the guy that lived down the street running a meth lab. This is way insignificant in the grand scheme of criminal activity in the world but it's still annoying to members here. I've only been here not even 2 months and it's annoying to me to hear stories of people getting stiffed or scamming the system.

#591Actually, I believe that back in 2007 the majority of book were sill accepting correlated parlays. Certainly it was more than just those 2 at the very least. And yes, reputable books pay even on obvious errors they make. They might boot the player after they pay, but they do pay.
P.S. Trying to beat books out of money doesn't make you a bad person - everyone here is trying to do the exact same thing, including you.
Keep in mind that SBR's staff was not experienced sportsbook risk managers or fraud detectors. And since this is a free points sportsbook and not a cash generating operation, we can not staff quite as well as we would like. But still no excuses and we have been beaten by guys looking for opportunities that put the odds in their favor. That's why a book needs reasonable limits and a staff that is pouring over the winners list figuring how each player made their score.Comment -

lol at the my pants down part, you're so cute when you're trolling. you also ignored the fact that i won a net 2k from soccer parlays, but keep trolling this is obv your day job.
lol, you obv knew about the soccer parlays beforehand b/c for your first 50 posts you assumed that i was betting asian handicap/total and even recommended to john to disallow those as that will resolve the soccer parlay problem.
