i don't know if anyones local paper posts big purchases or sales by big time corporate people, like CEO's, CFO's, chairmen, etc.
anyway my local paper does this on sundays, and when they say "recent", they usually mean in the past couple weeks.
normally its not uncommon for me to see Bank officials, or officials from YUM Brands, Papa John's, Ford, General Electric, etc., selling 1000's or tens of 1000's of shares, for 1000's or even in to the 7 figure area. Today they had this...
Amazon Inc. CEO Jeffery P. Bezos sold 1,850,000 shares on Feb. 15 for $135,442,016.00
now i know Bezos founded Amazon, but DAMN, thats a lot of shares.
so my question to any of you stock people. When a company does in IPO, how do they determine how many shares a company is worth, and how they divide the shares to the people who started or founded a company?
anyone got a link to a site that could explain it in a nutshell?
