Anyone hear the breaking news today where a poor guy in NYC had very little in his bank account only to find out someone by his same unusual name had died or inherited a trust where it was placed in the wrong account?

The recipient told the bank about it and they insisted it was his.So he goes out and spends 2 million bucks on absolute crap where it vanished into thin air.The bank then discovers the mistake and has him brought up on charges for grand larceny. What a bunch of BS that is!!!

If I would have been him,I would have taken the whole works out of the bank and left my life and identity behind and went underground.I would have bought some silver, gold and left some cash at dependable siblings houses etc.even giving them a few bucks for their troubles.

It's too bad he was told by the bank it was his by way of inheritance and such because I would have said that I thought I won some contest that I signed up on the internet for.You get 100's of those pie in the sky contest entries via e-mail every day.Just play dumb and say that I thought I won one.

I would have just transfered the money to the Cayman Islands and then left.

Lets face facts here, the guy isn't the victim. I'm sure he knew there was no one leaving him that kind of money.

I read this "breaking" story Tuesday or Weds in the New York Post. No one died, rather a company who is in charge of a trust/retirement accounts/whatever added a fellow to the legit account with the same name. The bank got the SS# mixed up. The man even asked the bank manager and was told it is his. Okay this is where it gets good. He withdraw about $2 million in 2 or 3 weeks. He spent about $20,000 on jewelry for his MISTRESS and $30,000 some or more on his friends. He spent shit on his family. He lost the majority off it through bad stock market moves. He is being charged because police said the man knew it wasn't his money.

Christ, at least he could have done something nice for his family.

That's bullshlt. If anyone walked into a bank, was told they had 10 million in their acct, told the bank manager, and then was told numerous times the money was yours. Would you argue? I know I wouldn't. Biggest mistake was not withdrawing the whole 10 million and dissapearing for a little bit.
