When I talk to these guys it is like an unofficial GA meeting where you hear all the war stories, I guess it is good to hear them and make you think twice before betting again. A lot more guys are barreled in here than you think.

That's what SBR wants. That's why they pay so highly for your services. Yeah they hire Ganch to feature his tools, but I'd wager a pretty penny that they're paying you more. You are here to provide entertainment for the majority of people, who just so happen to be losing gamblers.

Without the entertainment this forum pays for, most of us would get sick of reading it and take longer breaks from gambling, especially after we're barreled in. You are a great tool because you soften the blow many of us feel, but outside from that you offer no upside other than preying on our weaknesses.

Anyone ever go on the www.ragingbull.com stock trading bulletin board site? It's about 1000 times bigger than SBR is ''no knock on SBR,it's just that stock trading is bigger than sportsbetting''.It's a widely know fact that stock selling boiler rooms and some small companies hire bashers and pumpers to manipulate stock prices. These people are actually paid for doing this.So JJ Gold is now the first paid basher-pumper,dumper of the sportsbook forum world.hehe!

I dont know about all that, Ive been posting on RB since 2000 (not as cap pig) and the stocks boards I post on are not cluttered with paid guys. RB kinda died off after the tech bubble popped, lots a folks lost it all. I still post there a few times a week, some really sharp stock guys on some boards there.

I do know that certain stocks do get alot of attention there after news is out, but my guess is thats all the idiots chasing $ after the stock has already moved. Id believe that on Yahoo stock boards there are lots of paid pumper/bashers, I dont even bother to go there anymore.

If you enjoy sports and like gambling and are willing to use half a brain sports betting will either be a slight losing or slight winning venture in the long run either consider it an entertainment expense or a slight interest on your investment. If you expect to make a living sports betting you are either in on fixed games or you are deluding yourself, in the end the vig gets us all.

When did you two go at it? I don't think I was registered here then or maybe I missed it. He is one of the hardest working mods here from what I've seen, we don't realize it because most of us flock to the entertaining threads, but anytime there's a book question or industry concern he is all over it. Plus they must field a lot of emails and complaints.

he is? I've yet to see him grade plays or contests like other mods have.. I've yet to see him mention a stat or a trend that supports why he likes something.. Couldn't they pay a machine to do what he does on here? Post picks with no reasoning, give out SBRs email address to those in need of assistance?

Him and I never went at it..

I chase all the time to be honest with you. If you read any post saying I try to bet sophisticated just consider it nothing more than a bold faced lie, when I am in holes I keep digging, and I've borrowed from relatives too, stolen jewelery. It is amazing that I've always kept my word with friends, and broken it with family members, also I have never reversed a charge or anything of that nature. It is weird how us real degenerate gamblers care so much about a word when the rest of the world views us as such scumbags anyway, maybe because we're all we have got or the only people who understand each other?

I had a rough last Sat Sun Mon Tues and Thursday. Trying to decide about another book to use get a first time deposit and use a flat betting approach and not doubling or pushing too much of bank into a "sure" pick. Enough with that crap. Tired of doubling up games look so easy, then losing those and winning the ones where I put half a unit on something else. Yeesh.

I'm just screwing around, trying to fit in with jj in terms of degeneracy, since it seems popular around these neck of the woods.

Sometimes reading these boards enables that part of your brain which has a need to "double up", if it's a financial situation, deposit enough so that you're content with betting a small %. Ask yourself this question- at the end of the day what's more important, a big win right away, or sustaining a good record of wins and turning a longer term profit? The games aren't going anywhere, attack 'em slowly but surely.

Man your completely right that has always been my strategy....about 90% of the time since doing this. My thinking is, "better to win small amounts everyday then lose big in one day." I mean consistently winning, or having a greater percentage of wins with smaller amounts is fine with me. And then at times you can take a chance here and there, but then it comes a measure of risk with money management. I am successful in starting off I tripled up my deposit on my first book, cashed a little over 2X the amount and now just playing with my redeposit but I am just looking to get more then one book as well as other ideas about money management and deciding when its good time to increase your bet size, etc

I know so many posters on here claim flat betting is only way to go, while others mix it up. Just trying to figure my own strategy.

Do you have a certain method or formula you use?

Although maybe I should look into selling my Pogs. Baseball cards I will keep forever. Speaking of that need to go through them and preserve some of the autographed ones
I was kidding. Really though if I did have 88 Topps wax packs, I would only get pennies on the dollar. They are only good to burn for heat. Overproduced.

I can hardly commit to a serious relationship, let alone a stringent gambling formula. It is like dieting bro, if you are too strict the temptation to cheat will never go away. Likewise, if you're under betting games where you perceive you have a stronger edge than others, and you end up winning those games, you will start lamenting your decision to bet small and eventually push the envelope.

Be loose, bet whatever feels right but don't get carried away. Have a $50, 100, 250 size play etc, whatever makes the most financial sense without going crazy. Start tracking the plays you feel a higher edge on and see how they perform, if they are not much better than your smaller unit plays maybe you would be more comfortable just flat-betting and sticking to that system.
