Samuel is good, but he takes way to many chances for picks. If u watch enough patriot games, he can shut down WR, but he does sometimes take too many risks and give up big plays.

Even though I loath the Ravens about as much as the Cowboys, I think you gotta mention Ed Reed.

Not when you get burned as much. You asked for the BEST DB. Deangelo hall only had 5 picks.

              most picks

              1. A. Cromartie 10
              2. O.J. Atogwe 8
              3. Ed Reed 7
              3. Marcus Trufant 7
              5. Leigh bodden 6
              5. Anthony Henry 6
              5. Thomas Howard 6
              5. Asante Samuel 6
              9. Atari Bigby 5
              9. Dre Bly 5
              9. Keith Bulluck 5
              9 Leon Hall 5
              9 DeAngelo Hall 5
              9. Ken Hamlin 5
              9. Clinton Hart 5
              9. Roderick Hood 5
              9. Sean Jones 5
              9. Reggie Nelson 5
              9. Kerry Rhodes 5
              9. Antrel Rolle 5
              9. Sean Taylor 5
              9. Brian Urlacher 5

So your Boy D. Hall has as many interceptions as a bunch of pedestrian players. Sean Taylor didn't even play in that many games and had as many picks as Hall did. Hall was weak. He tied with 13 guys (14 counting taylor) and was beaten by 8.

D Hall has an attitude problem and gets burned in press coverage. He wants to be a lockdown corner. He talks the talk but he can't walk the walk. He's been burned so many times this year its not even funny. He blames his teammates for his mistakes and he had his melt down on network TV. You know why he even has 5 INT's because teams throw at him because he sucks. There are more dominating CB in the NFL that actually force teams to throw away from him. D. Hall is not one of them.

You can go spew your garbage elsewhere...

The guy for the raiders and Trufant are remarkable. They had a great year. I'd also have to throw Champ in there even though Farve owned him on national TV. But Bly got owned too...

I think consistency is important. Also pursuit. ALL corners get burned at some point. Bailey gets burned, as did Deion. Deion is the best cover corner I've ever seen - but he's nowhere near the top - from top to bottom.

It's hard to overlook Champ or even a Ronde Barber because they finish the play. I'd even put Charles Woodson in that category (though after the names already mentioned).

For my money, at corner I'd want Champ and Asomugha. For safety? Ed Reed is a must and I'd put Taylor in there, god rest him. After Reed there really is no one even close right now. Bigby is way too green and Hamlin? He's had a decent year - and that's about it... There really aren't many serviceable safeties in the NFL right now. Career production means something, too. I should mention Trufant, he's a stud, also - but not quite on the level of Champ or Asomugha.

Crap - totally forgot Bob Sanders haha. Polamalu was injured this year and hasn't been the same since about week 4 last year (injuries last year, too). I reserve judgement - but he has elite capability and really has only had 2 good years in his career.

Sanders does have a lot of injury problems, but yeah,he's elite. That was an oversight on my part. Excuse me:> I should note, however, that the 'sanders factor' did wear off this season a touch... But his impact is unbelieveable - the guy is always on the ball.
