Helmet to helmet hits may result in suspension. The NFL is getting soft. Next week QB's will be wearing bubble wrap. Linebackers will be modeling purses...give me a fvcking break NFL.

Devastating hits are also outlawed. I vote that they call it the Anquan Boldin rule.

rule change is correct. i know nfl players that can not walk straight 30 years after they retired. these players are humans and we have to protect their health.
also nfl is no fun to watch if all the star players are injured, especially quarterbacks.

Oh well.... I'm sure the hits "Junior" received and gave during his playing days will be the cause of his driving off a cliff

nfl players are way bigger faster and stronger now, so the collisions are way more intense now than back then when they wore giant pads also

Have the people making the rules ever played the game? Not easy to stop on a dime or change angles when you're barreling in on someone with a full head of steam. How many of the helmet-to-helmet are intentional?

Basically guys getting killed out there. I see no issue with the rule. Don't lead with your fukkin head.
Brady, rule is soft though.
Suspend guys, you're taught to aim for the chest not the fukkin head.

Sucks living in the year 2010, would love to go back 2000 years to the coliseum in Rome and be part of the masses frothing at their mouths as lions (no not the ones from Detroit) were set on defenseless human beings, ah those were the days.

D jackson should retire from football and start his professional flag football league (FFL) for players that just could not handle the concusions of the NFL. There was nothing wrong with the hit jackson took. HOw about when a big receiver like Marshall (broncos) or big rb Gore (49ers) are running over defensive backs. I have seen big receivers and rbs just punishing little defensive backs. We do not realize that defensive backs are small too and they do get hurt too. It was just unfortunate what happened to jackson. There was nothing wrong with that hit by dunta robinson. Both guys are the same size. And are we goin to punish Gore or Marshall for running over a defensive player and causing a concussion. I agree QB's should be protected because they are most vulnerable to getting hurt. Football is a reckless sport. If you are concussion prone, than you need to go to the FFL (flag football League).

Well this last weekend showed examples where a suspension was called for and an example of when a helmet-to-helmet call was clearly made incorrectly and the result was a 15-yard penalty. Personally, I think clear-cut h-2-h plays deserve a game suspension. One thing that get's me is when a RB or WR clearly gets low at the end of the play and it's almost impossible for the defensive player to adjust. I just hate seeing these kind of penalties and agree that they really water down the game.

I just think this is trying to protect investments of what these teams have. They spend millions to these players and then they have injuries like these and it is the owners that want to protect these investments.

Really you would rather go back 2000 years just because football is not violent like the coliseum..

If they implement this, then they should remove the roughing the passing rule.
Ray Lewis got penalized over a false call against Carson Palmer.

its for safety. on any running play head hits are allowed. Its just on defensless players a reciver across the middle expects to get hit but not to be injured permanetly. Everyone is talking about its football thats what they do and so on well how bout there professionals and if they cant use there hands or shoulders or any possible tacking manuever then I guess there going to get fined or penalized. Its not a hard concept dont lead with you head into another players. Step up stop complaining and use your body instead you get paid millions of dollars. besides less injury protects teams investments its all about money in these big time sports. So stop complaining and suck it up and understand the money reasons behind it as well.............. on a side note the one rule i would change if i could would be the over time rule. no more coin toss. its like they created that when cave men played football and there scared to change it. Change that damn rule!!!!!

Some guys are going to get suspended on really tough calls and that will be a shame but the Merriweather hit on Heap was totally intentional . He just missed a few plays earlier.
Dude should be lit up for a couple games.
NOT a ravens fan. A NFL fan.No homer crap here.
Again ,to me, the other guys made violent but fair hits IMO.
