So, last night my friend was trying to look up when her refund will be deposited into her account, and I was watchin, the link it took her to asked the same questions as the one i went to, but mine was the irs website..hers was some bank...
It kept asking her to type in the security code and never gave her a real answer.
I dont know if it was bogus, but it seemed like it.
Santa Barbara Bank and Trust or something like that.
So, if it was they got her social security number and stuff like that.

Anyone ever heard of that?

hopefully no one types anything with a sun trust bank. thats a scam. if you get an email about a bank you dont know, its a scam.

i get all kinds of scam stuff from banks, telling me stuff about my account needs updated or has been suspended, and i'm not even a member of the so-called bank.

about the IRS site, you should be able to check on fridays to see if your return has been issued. make sure you got to www.irs.gov, last week when i went to do my taxes, out of habit of typing .com after everything, i typed in .com after the irs.gov, and it took me to a site trying to look like an official gov website.

phishing has became a big thing you need some sort of Internet security to protect you from it if your a novice like me when you press go you accept to go where you thought you were going i found out the hard way!!!GET PROTECTED

I had a couple of problems of not going where i had typed in(phishing or redirected) but it wasn't the IRS if your friend had tried to go there and got redirected they would probably want to know I'm sure they would take some sort of legal action against that bank.

Suntrust is a legit bank in the south east. They are all over SC, NC, TN, and FL that I know of.

Tell her to get blocks on all three of the major credit reporting companies so no one can access her credit if she gave her ss# etc.....

When you use software like Turbo Tax, Santa Barbara Bank and Trust is where your money will be sent from. They are legit as i get my refund from them every year by direct deposit.

Very easy tax software. I used to pay a CPA money to do my taxes for me, not anymore. I have been using this software for about 5 years now and it's very easy to follow and use. If anyone is paying a CPA they are throwing away money.

Uh huh, i think u are able to file 2-3 people or so electronically. The others u hafta send in by mail i think? So the whole familys can be done on it. What's it 70 bucks or so for the program?

Not sure about buying it at a store. My credit union offers it online for about $20 and I use it there.
